Braves Play Ball in HD

Turner Broadcasting System Inc. will provide HD feeds of Atlanta Braves home Major League Baseball games carried on Turner South and TBS within the former’s footprint, the programmer said Monday.

The two networks are also partnering with area cable systems on “The Principal Family Fun Fest,” a minor-league-baseball fan festival that will help the networks and operators to promote the Braves in HD and HD-product sales.

Participating systems are: Comcast Corp. in Augusta, Columbus, Savannah and Rome, Ga., Charleston, S.C., and Mobile, Ala.; Time Warner Cable in Memphis, Tenn., and Greensboro, N.C.; and Charter Communications Inc. in Birmingham, Ala.

“We are pleased to team up with our affiliate partners to further expand their HDTV packages and enhance their customers’ HD viewing experience with the addition of Braves in HD,” Turner Network Sales vice president of network marketing and operations Heather Baldino said in a prepared statement.
