The series premiere of The Boondocks Sunday night set Adult Swim delivery records, Cartoon Network said Tuesday.
The Boondocks posted Cartoon’s late-night spinoff service’s highest new-series delivery and ratings ever among adults 18-34 and 18-24; men 18-34 and 18-24; and women 18-24.
The network said 1.605 million unduplicated persons 18-plus tuned into the premiere, helping Adult Swim to claim the No. 1 ranking for the week among all ad-supported basic cable for total-day delivery of adults 18-34 and 18-24 (32 weeks running) and men 18-24 (32 weeks running).
“We couldn’t be more proud of such a promising start for this provocative and smart new series,” Cartoon executive vice president and general manager Jim Samples said in a prepared statement.
