Berger Rises on E!’s Food Chain

Lisa Berger was promoted to executive vice president of original programming and series development at E! Entertainment Television.

In her new position, Berger -- who had been serving as senior VP of programming development since joining E! Networks in September 2003 -- will focus on developing content for such platforms as broadband, mobile and online.

The first efforts under her leadership include such new series for The Vine @ E! Online as Carters on the Couch and Planet Gossip.

Under her direction, E! Networks' development team launched new slates for both E! and Style, including such series as The Girls Next Door and Dr. 90210. More recently, she has shepherded The Simple Life: ‘Til Death Do Us Part and House of Carters for E! and Try My Life, Instant Beauty Pageant and Isaac for Style.

"I'm delighted to recognize the excellent work by Lisa Berger and her talented team. Her work has definitely contributed to the network's recent ratings success with The Girls Next Door, our new series House of Carters, as well as the highly anticipated Starveillance,” E! Networks CEO Ted Harbert said in a prepared statement.

"As E!'s content development continues to extend beyond the television screen to broadband, online and wireless, Lisa and her team will too expand their scope of work, developing content for new-media platforms as stand-alone entertainment, as well as to complement the linear channel," he added.
