Backspace Moves Forward with IPTV Launch

Backspace Communications completed its final round of content acquisition for its expanded-basic lineup, and the Internet-protocol-TV company said it is now positioned for a walled-garden launch.

The San Luis Obispo, Calif.-based company said it counts Discovery Networks, A&E Television Networks, Lifetime Television, NBC Universal and Fox Cable Networks among its programming suppliers.

Backspace added that it reached deals with the local affiliates of NBC, CBS, Fox and Telemundo for its lifeline basic lineup.
