BabyFirstTV Gets Charter Crib

BabyFirstTV, the commercial-free educational and child development channel for babies and toddlers, is gaining carriage on Charter Communications.

BabyFirstTV will debut on Charter in Alabama in mid-November, officials said Tuesday.

“We are very excited to launch on our first Charter system in Alabama, which is a great family market,” Glenn Kopelson, BabyFirstTV’s executive vice president of distribution, said in a prepared statement. “In a little more than one year since BabyFirstTV was introduced, the channel has proven itself as an effective development and educational tool for parents. With the launch on Charter, BabyFirstTV has become one of the fastest-growing niche subscription services in the country.”

Charter is the latest distribution platform for BabyFirstTV, which reaches more than 60 million homes worldwide via such partners as DirectTV, Dish Network and Comcast in the United States; BSKyB in the United Kingdom; CanalSat in France; Rogers Cable and BellVue in Canada; Sky and Cablevision in Mexico; One Link in Puerto Rico and Showtime Arabia throughout the Middle East. BabyFirstTV was also recently introduced into Asia with distribution to Korea and Taiwan.
