AT&T U-verse Launches MLB Network

AT&T U-verse has added MLB Network to its video lineup.
The telco is now offering the baseball channel, which features more than 100 live MLB regular-season games, as part of its U-verse TV U300 package on channel 634 in standard definition, and in high-definition on channel 1634. U-verse subscribers that want access to MLB Network HD and other enhanced services must pay $10 monthly.
Financial deal terms were not disclosed.

"We're proud to add MLB Network to the U-verse TV lineup for baseball fans in time for opening day of the MLB season," said AT&T president of content Dan York in a statement. "This deal helps us with important strategic content initiatives, and we're excited to deliver comprehensive MLB coverage to U-verse TV baseball fans in HD."
"We are pleased to build a relationship with AT&T and secure additional distribution prior to 2011 Opening Day," noted Tony Petitti, president and CEO of MLB Network. "U-verse customers will now have the opportunity to receive the only network on television dedicated to covering baseball 24 hours a day, 365 days a year."
