AT&T Promo Offers Free TV, Starz Movies

AT&T will give broadband Internet subscribers a 30-day free trial to Starz Entertainment’s Vongo movie-download service and 90 days of free access to the 20 linear channels it offers through AT&T Broadband TV.

The promotion, announced Thursday, offers new residential AT&T high-speed-Internet customers a 30-day free trial of Vongo, which has 2,200 total video titles and also offers streaming video of the main Starz TV linear channel. AT&T announced an agreement to distribute Vongo in April.

AT&T Broadband TV, which the telco provides through an agreement with MobiTV, has 20 channels, which include Bloomberg Television, Oxygen, Comedy Time, Toonworld TV Classics, MAXX Sports and The Weather Channel.

The offer is also available to current AT&T broadband customers who upgrade their service speed to either the 1.5-, 3- or 6-megabit-per-second tiers.

"By trialing today's offer of free movie downloads and real-time access to live TV content, our customers can better experience the benefits, value and advantages unique to AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet," Rick Welday, chief marketing officer for the AT&T Consumer division, said in a prepared statement.

AT&T’s regular pricing of the services is $9.99 per month for Vongo and $19.99 per month for Broadband TV.
