Atlantic Broadband Strikes Carriage Deal with Gemstar

Atlantic Broadband, a top 15 cable operator, and Gemstar-TV Guide International have entered into a long-term agreement that includes TV Guide Network, horse-racing channel TVG, TV Guide SPOT On Demand networks, the i-Guide interactive program guide and TV Guide Online’s Listings2Go application.

As part of the agreement, Atlantic Broadband will deploy Gemstar-TV Guide’s IPG, i-Guide, on Motorola set-top boxes; expand its distribution of TVG, and launch TV Guide SPOT On Demand to all on demand homes.

In addition, Atlantic Broadband will launch TV Guide’s Listings2Go online television guide application on its Web site, www.atlanticbb.com.  Listings2Go is one of the initial phases of My TV Guide, the company’s new suite of cross-platform personalized guidance tools and services.

Introduced by TV Guide in May 2007, My TV Guide’s personalized guidance solutions lets consumers access video entertainment on platforms ranging from traditional linear television to the Internet and mobile devices.  My TV Guide products and services are designed to complement existing IPGs and are being rolled out this year, with the initial phase of deployment taking place primarily on the Web.

Atlantic Broadband is privately held, with 286,000 customers located in four operating regions: central Pennsylvania; South Florida; Aiken, S.C.; and Maryland/Delaware.
