Arris Inks Exclusive Deal With NCTC For EMTAs

Arris extended its master-purchase agreement with the National Cable Television Cooperative to sell the group's cable operator members with broadband-access solution components, under which Arris will be the exclusive supplier of customer-premises embedded multimedia terminal adapters.

NCTC, based in Lenexa, Kans., has 1,000 member companies -- including 17 of the top 20 U.S. cable operators -- which serve more than 26.7 million households in the country.

"We are pleased to announce this new purchase agreement with Arris," Richard Frey, NCTC vice president and general manager of hardware, said in a statement. "Our membership has a long history of successfully deploying ARRIS solutions in their systems and this new agreement will offer them competitive pricing and Arris' highly regarded after-sales support to better plan any upgrades or green-field network extensions."
