Arris launched software designed to let cable customer-support reps and technicians get a real-time look at cable modems and other equipment, to more quickly resolve subscriber issues.
The ServAssure Live! software also is designed to give network operations center personnel a view into the health status of devices in the network that aren't directly tied to a subscriber, such as cable modem termination systems and call management servers.
Arris expects to demo ServAssure Live! at the IBC conference and expo, Sept. 9-14 in Amsterdam.
The software automatically discovers customer-premises equipment, rather than requiring manual reconfiguration and manual, and uses a standards-based Web services interface to integrate with other data sources. Arris is offering customers a free 30-day trial upon request.
"We are very excited to introduce ServAssure Live! to the call-center employees at our customers' systems," Arris assurance vice president and general manager Bailey Shewchuk said in a statement. "They are the front line of customer service and need the most accurate information to be able to resolve customer problems in a timely and efficient manner, thus freeing up resources to be allocated to revenue-generating activities."
