Armstrong Adds ESPNU To Lineup

ESPNU has tackled a distribution deal with Armstrong in time for a key college football matchup this Saturday night.

ESPNU is now available to some 75,000 customers in western Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland and Kentucky as part of Armstrong’s Television Plus 40 digital package. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the addition of ESPN’s college network to Armstrong on channel 464, will enable Armstrong’s Pittsburgh area customers watch the Pittsburgh Panthers square off against the University of Virginia at 7 p.m. on Sept. 29.

ESPNU, which delivers more than 550 live events each year, is currently available to some 20 million households around the country.

“There is a rich tradition of college athletics in our area,” said Jeff Ross, president of Armstrong’s cable division, in a statement. “We’re excited to provide our customers even more coverage of their favorite schools and sports.”
