AMC, Turner Join Comcast Media Center's Ad Distribution Network

AMC Networks and Turner Broadcasting System have joined Comcast Media Center's Advertising Distribution Network (ADN), bringing the total number of cable channels delivering on-air promotional content to cable operators via the service to 220.

CMC's ADN delivers broadcast-ready spots directly to cable and broadcast marketing and ad sales departments for editing or playback on a local ad-insertion system.

The service is used by broadcasters and cable systems, including the 16 largest U.S. MSOs. ADN hosts more than 2,500 ready-to-air spot commercials from programming network and ad sales clients at any given time.

"The ADN solution for delivering spot advertising to cable headends has resonated with the industry," said Richard Buchanan, CMC's vice president and general manager of content services.

The Ad Distribution Network, launched in 2007, provides a Web-based portal to manage and track distribution of promotions and ads. Cable affiliates can search and preview the spots and other video assets, and can download high-resolution versions of the spots directly from the ADN portal to their local editing suites or directly to their local ad servers.

In addition to its commercial clients, ADN delivers on-air content from the Ad Council for use by local broadcasters and cable system operators.
