RGB Networks’ “Simulcast Edge Processor” will be used as part of Adelphia Communications Corp.’s digital-simulcast rollout, the vendor said Tuesday.
The ESP will perform integrated decoding, modulation and upconversion, RGB said.
Following Adelphia’s rollout, the MSO’s subscribers will be able to receive all of their channels in digital, allowing the operator to deploy lower-cost digital set-tops, to offer targeted services such as zoned ad insertion and to deliver additional revenue-generating digital services.
