Suddenlink Communications has reached a video-on-demand deal with TVN Entertainment Corp

Under the the multiyear agreement, terms of which were not disclosed, TVN will provide Suddenlink with access to a full slate of content, including Hollywood movies in both standard- and high-definition, broadcast and cable network fare for the operator’s free on demand platform, premium subscription VOD offerings and exclusive VOD networks.  As part of the pact, the cable operator also gains online access to TVN’s Emmy-nominated Adonnis2 interactive toolset, which facilitates the tracking of on-demand assets and modification of metadata in real time.

Additionally, TVN will create a customized weekly barker, as well as providing an extensive roster of VOD promotions and campaigns that are produced with studios and other major content partners.

“Video on demand is an important differentiator and key component of our video strategy,” said Suddenlink senior vice president of programming Patty McCaskill in a statement. “TVN’s expertise, combined with its comprehensive programming mix and sophisticated asset management toolset, made it the clear choice for providing this exciting new offering to Suddenlink customers.”

Noted TVN executive vice president Jim Riley: “Suddenlink has taken a deliberate and comprehensive approach to the VOD programming and platform strategy. Their entire executive team understands that VOD is not just better PPV – it is a unique value proposition to offer customers enhanced content across all programming categories – and TVN is thrilled to be supporting their business.”
