EchoStar Communications Corp. said Wednesday that its Dish Network direct-broadcast satellite service passed the 12 million-subscriber mark in late December.
Dish said it has added more than 6.74 million net new customers during the past five years. The DBS provider reached 1 million subscribers in December 1997 and 11 million in January 2005.
