Bob Hearts Abishola will premiere in broadcast syndication this fall on such station groups as Nexstar Media Group, Sinclair, Hearst Television, Tegna, E.W. Scripps, Weigel Broadcasting, Sunbeam Television, Gray Television, Mission Broadcasting, Lockwood Broadcast Group and Bahakel Broadcasting, Warner Bros. Discovery Content Sales confirmed Wednesday.

The Warner Bros. Television sitcom, which is concluding its five-season run on CBS, is joining its Chuck Lorre-produced siblings — The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon and Two and a Half Men — in syndication. Bob Hearts Abishola also has been sold to stations in a three-year deal, starting this fall and running through 2026-27 — which is also when Two and a Half Men’s fourth cycle expires. The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon, which premiered in syndication in fall 2021, are renewed through the 2025-26 syndicated TV season. Young Sheldon’s first five seasons debuted on Netflix in November with season six coming to the streaming service in February.

“Nexstar couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Bob Hearts Abishola to our stations, standing proudly among the other outstanding Chuck Lorre comedies that we currently have on our slate,” Nexstar president, networks Sean Compton said. “It’s an exciting addition that promises to deliver a lot of laughter and heartfelt moments to our viewers.”

Bob Hearts Abishola stars Billy Gardell as Bob, a middle-aged compression sock businessman in Detroit who falls for his cardiac nurse, Abishola (Folake Olowofoyeku), a Nigerian immigrant, while recovering from a heart attack. Undaunted by Abishola’s initial lack of interest or vast differences in their backgrounds, Bob is determined to win her heart, and eventually marries her in this comedic examination of immigrant life in America.

“Working on Bob Hearts Abishola has been a joy,” creator and executive producer Chuck Lorre said in a statement. “From the authentic perspective our cast brings to their roles to the rich cultural experience our writers and crew bring to life each week, Bob Hearts Abishola has truly shown that immigrants make America great, and that love comes in many forms. I’m happy that audiences will be able to continue to enjoy these beautiful stories in syndication for years to come.”

Lorre, Gina Yashere and Matt Ross are executive producers. The show is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Warner Bros., part of AT&T, said that Channing Dungey has been named chairman, Warner Bros. Television Group.

Dungey, who has been with Netflix and Disney will succeed Peter Roth, who recently announced that he was stepping down from the studio.

The move is the latest in a series of shakeups at AT&T’s TV businesses since it acquired Time Warner. The hiring was announced by Ann Sarnoff, who became chair and CEO of AT&T’s WarnerMedia Studios and Networks Group last year.

“This is a homecoming of sorts for Channing, who was a production executive at Warner Bros. early in her career, and we’re excited to have her rejoin the Studio,” said Sarnoff. “Channing is one of the most talented, visionary, creative and respected executives working in television today. She has impeccable taste, a breadth of experience covering all platforms and genres, incredible relationships across the creative community and a keen sense of what’s next and how best to get it to audiences. She’s a great choice to lead the Television Group as it continues to grow its production operations for HBO Max, while also maintaining its standing as the industry’s leading independent supplier of programming to all outlets.”

Dungey most recently served as VP of original series at Netflix. Before that she was president of ABC Entertainment. She joined ABC’s drama development department in 2009.

“The Warner Bros. Television Group is the recognized industry leader in content creation and a true destination for talent based on its ability to produce across all genres and for all outlets,” said Dungey. “I’m thrilled to be joining the company at such a pivotal time in its history and look forward to working with my new colleagues at Warner Bros. and across the Studios and Networks Group to build on the incredible work of my predecessor, Peter Roth. This is such an electric time in our industry, and we have so much opportunity available to us between Warner Bros.’ core businesses and HBO Max, I cannot wait to dive in."

AT&T’s WarnerMedia will retain broadcast and streaming rights to Warner Bros. TV sitcom The Big Bang Theory through 2028.

The pocket-to-pocket transaction means the Chuck Lorre-produced comedy will be available on HBO Max when the streaming platform launches next year. The show’s 279 episodes will also keep repeating on linear channel TBS.

According to the Wall Street Journal, which cited unnamed sourcing, the total value of the agreement is worth $600 million.

The Big Bang Theory was a hit prime-time series on CBS for 12 seasons.

“Few shows define a generation and capture mainstream zeitgeist like The Big Bang Theory,” said Robert Greenblatt, chairman of WarnerMedia Entertainment and Direct-To-Consumer, in a statement. ”We’re thrilled that HBO Max will be the exclusive streaming home for this comedy juggernaut when we launch in the spring of 2020. This show has been a hit virtually around the globe, it’s one of the biggest shows on broadcast television of the last decade, and the fact that we get to bring it to a streaming platform for the first time in the U.S. is a coup for our new offering.”

According to WSJ, Lorre is said to be pleased with the outcome of the in-house deal, believing the show was licensed at fair market value.

Related: Netflix Snags Global Streaming Rights to 'Seinfeld' Starting in 2021

Venerable sitcoms like The Big Bang Theory have become valuable chips in a heated battle in which upstarts including HBO Max, Disney+, Comcast/NBCU and Apple TVB+ are crowding into the streaming market to compete with Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Hulu.

Notably, WarnerMedia pulled all 236 episodes of Warner Bros. TV series Friends off Netflix, starting in 2020, and will put them on HBO Max. NBCU did the same with The Office, moving the show from Netflix to its own streaming platform, also set to launch next year.

On Monday, Netflix announced the acquisition of Sony Pictures TV classic Seinfeld, starting in 2021.
