                                <p>Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch will join Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell in the lead roles of HBO's second season of its <em>True Detective</em> franchise.</p><p>McAdams will portray Ani Bezzerides, a Ventura County detective with "uncompromising ethics," while Kitsch is Paul Woodrugh, a war veteran and motorcycle highway patrol officer with a painful life.</p><p>For his part, Farrell is on board as Ray Velcoro, a detective torn between mobsters and his corrupt department, and Vaughn is this season's criminal, Frank Semyon. Kelly Reilly is Seymon's wife, partner and "former D-list actress" Jordan.</p><p>Last season's highly decorated rookie run of <em>True Detective</em> showcased <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/breaking-bad-modern-family-reign-again-emmys-383374" data-original-url="https://www.multichannel.com/news/breaking-bad-modern-family-reign-again-emmys-383374">Matthew McConaughey, and Woody Harrelson in Emmy-nominated outstanding lead actor turns in a drama series</a>. Like the show itself, both actors came up short with the Emmy crowd that favored the final season of AMC's B<em>reaking Bad</em>.</p>
