The making of the iconic gangster film The Godfather is the subject of a new Paramount Plus limited series The Offer,  which debuts April 29.

The 10-episode series is based on Oscar-winning producer Albert S. Ruddy's experiences in making The Godfather, and stars Miles Teller, Matthew Goode, Juno Temple, Giovanni Ribisi, Dan Fogler, Burn Gorman and Colin Hanks. Paramount Plus will debut the first three episodes of the series April 29, with each new episode streaming weekly, said the service.

The Offer is produced by Nikki Toscano, Michael Tolkin, Albert Ruddy, Miles Teller, Russell Rothberg and Leslie Greif.

Disney Plus teased its next Marvel Studios-based series with a new video trailer for Moon Knight.

According to Disney Plus, the series stars Oscar Isaac as Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee who discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with a mercenary named Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt, according to the streaming service.  

Moon Knight also stars Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy. Isaac, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Mohamed Diab and Jeremy Slater serve as executive producers. 

Moon Knight is the fifth Marvel Studios-produced series to debut on Disney Plus, following Emmy-winning series WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki and  Hawkeye. ■ 

 Disney Plus has released a first-look trailer for the film version of the hit Broadway pay Hamilton, which debuts on the streaming service July 3. 

The film, which was slated to debut in theaters in fall 2021 but in May was moved up to launch on Disney Plus, was filmed at The Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway in June 2016is and stars Lin-Manuel Miranda, who earned a Tony Award for his starring role in the play as Alexander Hamilton. 

Streaming service DC Universe has set a Nov. 29 premiere date and a new trailer for its animated series Harley Quinn.

The series stars Kaley Cuoco as the voice of villain Harley Quinn, who, according to the service, has broken things off with the Joker and attempts to make it on her own as the criminal queenpin of Gotham City. The series features such characters from the DC Universe as Quinn and Poison Ivy, as well as other heroes and villains.

Netflix Thursday said it will debut its new fantasy series The Witcher on Dec. 20.

Based on the best-selling fantasy series, The Witcher stars Henry Cavill and tells the story of Geralt of Rivia -- a solitary monster hunter -- as he struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together, according to Netflix.

Starz Tuesday released the official video for its new spy thriller The Rook, which debuts June 30. 

The series stars Emma Greenwell as Myfanwy Thomas, a woman who wakes up in the rain beside London’s Millennium Bridge with no memory of who she is and no way to explain the circle of latex-gloved dead bodies splayed around her, according to the network. 

 When Myfanwy discovers she is a high-ranking official in the Checquy, Britain’s last truly secret service for people with paranormal abilities, she will have to navigate the dangerous and complex world of the agency to uncover who wiped her memory - and why she is a target, said Starz.

The Rook also stars Shelley Conn (The Lottery, How Do You Know), and James D’Arcy (Agent Carter, Dunkirk).

Netflix has released a video trailer for the fifth season of its anthology series Black Mirror, which will feature Anthony Mackie, Miley Cyrus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Topher Grace and  Damson Idris.

Black Mirror, which will return to Netflix June 5, features stand-alone episodes that offer a sharp, suspenseful tale that explores themes of contemporary techno-paranoia leading to an unforgettable – and sometimes unsettling – conclusion, according to Netflix. 

HBO Tuesday released a new trailer linked to the final season of its Emmy Award-winning series Game Of Thrones.

The video trailer, titled Aftermath, shows a barren land devoid of life after what seems to have been an all-out war. The series returns for its eighth and final season on April 14, said the network. 

HBO Wednesday released a new trailer for its docuseries The Case Against Adnan Syed, debuting March 10, according to network officials.

The four-part documentary series follows the The 1999 murder of 18-year-old Baltimore County high school student Hae Min Lee, and the subsequent conviction of her ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed, were brought to global attention in 2014 by the hugely popular “Serial” podcast. 

The series, directed by Amy Berg, presents new information that questions the state’s case, and draws on exclusive access to essential characters, including new audio recordings of Syed from prison, the defense team, the Syed family, friends and teachers of Hae Min Lee, private investigators and members of Baltimore City law enforcement, examining how Syed’s trial and subsequent conviction in 2000 raised as many questions as they answered, according to HBO.

FX has released the official trailer for the eighth season of its Emmy-winning horror anthology series American Horror Story: Apocalypse.

The series, which debuts Sept. 12, continues the anthology horror series created and produced by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Sarah Paulson stars in the eighth installment of the series along with Evan Peters, Alison Pill, Adina Porter, Billie Lourd and Cheyenne Jackson.
