HBO scored ratings gains on Sunday night with midseason installmentsof the rookie run of The Leftovers and the final campaign of True Blood, respectively,

The Leftovers notched its largest audience since its June 29 premiere drew 1.8 million watchers, averaging 1.6 million viewers in its 10 p.m. first play on July 20. Combined with its encore The Leftovers, which delves into a world following the sudden disappearance of 2% of the population, totaled 2 million viewers for the night. Through its first two episodes, the series averaged more than 8 million across all telecasts, HBO On Demand and HBO GO.

For its part, vampire/fairy/ werewolf saga True Blood bit into 3.6 million viewers at 9 p.m. on Sunday, registering its most-watched telecast since 4.8 million tuned its final-season debut on June 22. All told, the installment tallied 4.4 million viewers for the night, across three plays.

The first two episodes of True Blood's final season have tallied a 10 million-viewer average  across all plays, HBO On Demand and HBO GO.

Last Week Tonight With John Oliver garnered 922,000 viewers at 11 p.m. and 1.1 million total viewers for the night. Season to date, Oliver episodes averaged 4 million viewers across all plays, as well as the premium network's on-demand and TVE platforms.
