Disney Plus has unveiled the official trailer for its original series Turner & Hooch, premiering July 21 on the streaming service.

The movie, a reboot of the 1989 film following the exploits of a US Marshall who inherits an unruly dog, stars Josh Peck (Drake and Josh). Also starring in the series are Carra Patterson, Brandon Jay McLaren, Anthony Ruivivar, Lyndsy Fonseca and Reginald VelJohnson, who reprises his role from the film as Mayor David Sutton.

Turner & Hooch is executive produced by Matt Nix, Michael Horowitz, Robert Duncan McNeill and Mary Viola.

CNN’s original mini-series The Seventies drew 887,000 viewers in its June 11 premiere, according to Nielsen Fast National data.

The eight part series, which chronicles the important cultural and news happenings of the decade, also generated 291,000 viewers within the 25-54 demo, topping network competitors Fox News (278,000) and MSNBC (94,000), according to Nielsen. Overall Fox Nes drew the most total viewers in the category for the night with 1.9 million viewers.

The Seventies premiere was up +2% vs. The Sixties debut a year ago in the 25-54 demo (291,000 vs. 284,000). The Seventies is produced by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman.

HBO will team with Tom Hanks to create a miniseries around explorers Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, the network said Friday.

Lewis and Clark, based on the book Undaunted Courage by Stephen A. Ambrose, will star Casey Affleck and Matthias Schoenaerts as the American explorers.

The six-hour miniseries will be executive-produced by Hanks, Gary Goetzman, Edward Norton, Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Tim Kelly and Adam Leipzig for HBO.

“In Lewis and Clark, we can see American idealism and the breathtaking natural beauty of the continent, as well as the complexities and tragedies of what came to be known as America’s ‘manifest destiny’,” said HBO programing president Michael Lombardo in a statement. “We are tremendously excited to bring together this incredible group of talents to tell a seminal American story.”

CNN will re-visit the 1970s in a new six-hour series premiering this summer.

The eight-part series The Seventies, produced by actor/producer Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman (John Adams) and Mark Herzog (Gettysburg), will examine the decade through its politics, culture and historic events. The first episode in the series will focus on television and how shows like M.A.S.H, All In The Family, Saturday Night Live and Monday Night Football helped shape the culture of the decade.

Other episodes will focus on the Watergate scandal, the repercussions of the Vietnam War, the sexual revolution and the rise of terrorism at home and abroad.  

The series is a follow-up to CNN’s The Sixties 10-part series which aired earlier this year. The network will feature a marathon airing of the series beginning Nov. 22.

HBO will telecast a live concert to honor military veterans on Veteran’s Day (Nov. 11).

The inaugural Concert For Valor concert, hosted by HBO and coffee company Starbucks, will honor the courage and sacrifice of America’s veterans and their families, the network said. The concert, which will take place on the National Mall in Washington D.C. and will look to raise awareness for veterans service organizations, will feature performances from such stars as Eminem, Jamie Foxx, Dave Grohl, Metallica, John Oliver, Rihanna (pictured), Bruce Springsteen, Carrie Underwood and Zac Brown Band, as well as special appearances by Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg.

HBO will open its feed to affiliates to allow non-HBO subscribers to view the special, said network officials.

“We are honored to play a small role to help raise awareness and support for our service men and women,” said  HBO chairman and CEO Richard Plepler in a statement. “Their immeasurable sacrifice deserves our nation’s gratitude. This event will not only celebrate their service, but help remind Americans of the many challenges they face on and off the battlefield. We are delighted to join with Starbucks in our mutual effort to pay tribute to our veterans and those currently serving in the military.”
