Netflix will offer up an action-themed, original movie feature starring actress/singer Jennifer Lopez over this Mother's Day weekend. 

The Mother debuts May 12 and stars Lopez as a deadly female assassin who comes out of hiding to protect the daughter she gave up years before while on the run from dangerous men, according to Netflix.

Along with Lopez, the film stars Joseph Fiennes, Omari Harwick, Gael Garcia Bernal, Paul Raci and Lucy Paez.

The Mother is produced by Lopez along with Benny Medina, Elain Goldsmith-Thomas, Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, Marc Evans, Misha Green and Courtney Baker.

A family separated by a cataclysmic world event serves as the backdrop for the trailer for Peacock's thriller series Last Light, debuting September 8.

The five-episode series, based on Alex Scarrow’s best-selling novel of the same name, stars Matthew Fox as a scientist who, while on a business trip to the Middle East and separated from his family, is thrust into the middle of an apocalyptic event when the world's oil supply is shut down.

Also starring in the series is Joanne Froggatt, Alyth Ross, Taylor Fay, Amber Rose Revah, Victor Alli, Tom Wlaschiha and Hakeem Jomah.

Apple TV Plus has unveiled a new trailer for its upcoming psychological thriller Surface, which debuts July 29.

The eight-episode series stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw as a woman who looks to put the pieces of her life back together after suffering a traumatic head injury that has left her with extreme memory loss. Through the help of her husband and friends, Sofie begins her recovery, but soon starts to question whether or not the truth she is told is in fact the truth she has lived, according to Apple TV Plus.

Apple TV Plus will showcase the international thriller series Losing Alice on Jan. 22, the streaming service said Tuesday.

The eight-episode, Israel-produced drama series follows Alice (Ayelet Zurer) a middle-aged film director who feels lost since raising her family, but after a chance meeting with a femme-fatale screenwriter (Lihi Kornowski) Alice goes on an obsessive journey toward success at any cost, according to the streaming service. 

Apple TV Plus will premiere the first three episodes of Losing Alice on Jan. 22, with new episodes premiering weekly on Friday thereafter.

Apple TV Plus will debut the second season of its drama series Servant on Jan. 15, the streaming service said Thursday.

The M. Night Shyamalan-directed series follows a babysitter hired by a couple to watch a “reborn doll” after the couple’s infant son died. The series stars Lauren Ambrose, Toby Kebbell, Nell Tiger Free and Rupert Grint.

Shyamalan serves as executive production of Servant along with Tony Basgallop, Ashwin Rajan, Jason Blumenthal, Todd Black and Steve Tisch. 

TNT is moving up the premiere of its thriller series The Alienist: Angel of Darkness by a week to July 19.

The series, which was initially scheduled to launch on July 26, will roll out over four weeks with two episodes airing every Sunday through Aug. 9, according to the network.

The Alienist: Angel of Darkness, a followup to The Alienist series which debuted in 2018, stars Daniel Brühl, Dakota Fanning, Luke Evans, Douglas Smith, Matthew Shear, Robert Ray Wisdom, Ted Levine, Melanie Field and Rosy McEwen.

Amazon Prime Video Thursday released a first-look video for its new original series Hunters, which will debut in 2020.

The series, executive produced by Academy Award-winner Jordan Peele and starring Academy Award-winner Al Pacino, follows a diverse band of Nazi hunters living in 1977 New York City who have discovered that hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials are living among us and conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the U.S., according to Amazon. 

Hunters, produced by Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Sonar Entertainment, was created by David Weil (Moonfall), who serves as executive producer and co-showrunner alongside executive producer Nikki Toscano. Alfonso Gomez-Rejon (American Horror Story) directed the pilot and is an executive producer along with Win Rosenfeld (The Twilight Zone, Lorena) from Monkeypaw Productions, Nelson McCormick (Prison Break), and Tom Lesinski (Mr. Mercedes) from Sonar Entertainment.

Netflix has released a trailer video for its upcoming limited series Black Earth Rising, which debuts on the streaming service Jan. 25.

The contemporary thriller follows a Rwandan orphaned by the genocide and raised in London who seeks to discover the truth of her past. Michaela Coel and John Goodman star in the series, according to Netflix.

Amazon Thursday released the official trailer for its new drama series Homecoming, starring Julia Roberts.

Roberts portrays Heidi Bergman, a caseworker at a facility helping soldiers transition back to civilian life. Years later after leaving the job, a Department of Defense auditor comes to her with questions about why she left the facility. The visit forces Heidi to realize that there’s a whole other story behind the story she’s been telling herself, according to Amazon. 

Bobby Cannavale, Stephan James and Sissy Spacek also star in the series, which is set to premiere on the Prime Video streaming service Nov. 2, said Amazon. 

Based on the podcast of the same name, Homecoming was created by Eli Horowitz and Micah Bloomberg, and directed by Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail.

AMC has set a March 26 date for the debut of its new suspense series The Terror, the network said Friday.

The 10-episode series, from executive producer Ridley Scott, centers on the Royal Navy’s perilous voyage into unchartered territoryas the crew attempts to discover the Northwest Passage, said network officials.

The ten-episode series stars Jared Harris (The Crown, Mad Men); Tobias Menzies (Outlander); Ciarán Hinds (Game of Thrones); Paul Ready (Cuffs); Adam Nagaitis (Suffragette); Nive Nielsen (The New World); Ian Hart (Neverland); and Trystan Gravelle (Mr. Selfridge). 

The Terror is produced by Scott Free, Emjag Productions and Entertainment 360 in association with AMC Studios. The series is executive produced by Scott, David Kajganich, Soo Hugh, David W. Zucker, Alexandra Milchan, Scott Lambert and Guymon Casady. 

“The Terror captures a rare combination of fascinating history, complex and flawed characters, the inextinguishable human spirit and the horror and promise of an uncharted world,” said executive producers and co-showrunners David Kajganich and Soo Hugh in a statement. “We are looking forward to bringing viewers into this world in March.”

Audience Network has renewed its thriller series Mr. Mercedes for a second season, the network announced Tuesday.

The series, based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, will return for a 10-episode season in 2018, according to the network. The season one finale of the series, which stars Harry Treadaway and Brendan Gleeson, airs Oct. 11.

King, David E. Kelley (Big Little LIes, Ally McBeal), Dennis Lehane and Jack Bender (Lost, Under the Dome) will return as executive producers for the second season, according to Audience Network. 

“We’re thrilled that the first installment of Mr. Mercedes resonated with such a wide audience,” said Christopher Long, head of AT&T Audience Network in a statement. “David E. Kelley, Jack Bender, Dennis Lehane, and Sonar did a masterful job crafting a series that honored the original work by Stephen King.
