                                <p>Discovery Channel will partner with Lionsgate to produce a 10-part series revolving around the Vietnam War.</p><p>The series, <em>The Suck</em>, takes a unique and unexpected view of the American experience in the Vietnam War while dramatizing the story of the Vietnamese in a way not previously explored in television, according to network officials.</p><p>The series, based on an unpublished memoir by Vietnam veteran and former Greenpeace International executive Stephen McCallister, will premiere in 2018. Ed Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz (<em>Nashville</em>, the creators of <em>thirtysomething</em>) will serve as executive producers of the series along with Keith Addis and Tony Thomopoulos.</p><p>“We are so lucky that Ed and Marshall, who have created so many indelible characters and unforgettable stories, are now taking Discovery viewers on a new journey," said Rich Ross, Group President of Discovery, Animal Planet, Science Channel and Velocity in a statement. "It's great that we get to partner with the Lionsgate team to bring it all to life."</p><p><em>The Suck</em> is the second collaboration between Discovery and Lionsgate following anthology series <em>Manhunt: The UNABOMer,</em> which is currently in production.</p>
