Cable networks and streaming services will look to end the month of May on a high note with several series and movie premieres leading into Memorial Day weekend.

Disney Plus will debut its highly anticipated movie Cruella, starring Emma Stone in the role of 101 Dalmatians antagonist Cruella de Vil in a prequel of the classic Disney film. Disney Plus subscribers will have to pay an additional $30 for the movie as part of the streaming service’s Premiere Access movie offering for movies that debut day and date with their theater premiere.

Also slated for this week is the May 27 premiere of Friends: The Reunion special on HBO, which reunites the stars of the popular 1990’s sitcom -- Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer -- for a real-life, unscripted celebration of the show.

The Golden Globes highlighted cable and streaming service shows Sunday night, with FX and Netflix leading the way with the most award wins, according to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. 

FX and Netflix tied with three awards apiece during NBC’s live Golden Globes telecast in which the broadcast networks were shut out of winners circle. Amazon was the only other service winning multiple awards with two.

FX’s The Assassination of Gianni Versace won two awards, including best limited TV series or movie. Netflix’s The Kominsky Method also won two awards, including best comedy series, while FX’s The Americans won the best drama television series statuette in its last year of eligibility.

Other Golden Globes highlights include Sandra Oh --who co-hosted the awards telecast with Andy Samberg --winning the best actress in a drama series award for her role in BBC America's Killing Eve.

Also, Darren Criss became the first Filipino American to win a Golden Globe with his starring role in FX's The Assassination of Gianni Versace, which won the best performance by an actor in a limited series or motion picture made for television award.

Netflix’s The Kominsky Method continued its strong Golden Globes showing, winning the award for best TV musical or comedy.

The sophomore series topped Barry (HBO), The Good Place (NBC), Kidding (Showtime) and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon) for the award.

Series star Michael Douglas won the best actor in a comedy series award earlier in the ceremony. 

Veteran actor Michael Douglas won the first Golden Globes award in the television category, taking home the best actor in a comedy or musical award.

Douglas won the award for his role in Netflix's The Kominsky Method, beating out Sacha Baron Cohen (Who Is America), Jim Carrey (Kidding), Donald Glover (Atlanta) and Bill Hader (Barry).

Richard Madden took home the Golden Globes Award for best performance by an actor in drama series for his role in Netflix's Bodyguard, besting Jason Bateman (Ozark), Stephan James (Homecoming), Billy Porter (Pose), and Matthew Rhys (The Americans).

Streaming service Netflix dominated nominations for the 2019 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, announced Wednesday morning.

Netflix led all streaming services, cable and broadcast networks with 15 SAG Awards nominations, according to the organization. Amazon’s Prime Video and HBO followed close behind.

Among the shows with multiple SAG nominations were Netflix’s Ozark and The Kominsky Method, Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, NBC’s This Is Us, HBO’s Barry and Prime’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

The 25th annual SAG Awards will air live on TNT and TBS on Jan. 27.
