Jenn Tran is the star of the show as season 21 of The Bachelorette premieres on ABC July 8. Viewers got to know Tran on season 28 of The Bachelor, which premiered earlier this year, when Joey Graziadei handed out the roses. 

ABC called Tran a “fan favorite” and a “bilingual Vietnamese beauty.” From New Jersey and living in Miami, she is studying to be a physician’s assistant. Tran, age 26, lists reading, paddleboarding and traveling as her passions. 

A list of 25 bachelors will compete for Tran’s attention. They include Aaron, an aerospace engineer from Tulsa; Dakota, a sommelier from Paradise Valley, Arizona; Jahaan, a startup founder from New York; and Marcus, an Army Ranger veteran from Raleigh. 

The two-hour premiere sees Tran meet the men at the mansion before they set out for Australia, New Zealand and some other far-off destinations. 

The Bachelorette is a production of Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon. Bennett Graebner, Claire Freeland, Jason Ehrlich, Tim Warner and Peter Gust are executive producers.

Katie Thurston, who was on season 17 of The Bachelorette and season 25 of The Bachelor, will be on FBoy Island on The CW this fall. 

The reality show follows three women who move to a tropical locale, where they are joined by 26 men — 13 “Nice Guys” looking for love and 13 more “FBoys” who are there for the cash. 

“The women will navigate the dating pool together with the hope of finding a lasting love connection,” according to The CW. “By the finale, all will be revealed: who is a Nice Guy, who is an FBoy, who the women ultimately choose, and who walks away with the prize money.”

The show ran for two seasons on HBO Max and was cancelled. The CW picked it up for season three. 

Nikki Glaser hosts. The CW will also premiere spinoff FGirl Island in the midseason. Glaser will host that show too.

Season 20 of The Bachelorette starts on ABC June 26. Charity Lawson, who endured a “heartbreaking departure” from season 27 of The Bachelor, according to ABC, is the leading woman for the summer season. She made the final four on The Bachelor earlier this year, but did not get a rose from Zach Shallcross near the end. 

Jesse Palmer hosts The Bachelorette.

Lawson earned a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Auburn University. She’ll meet 25 men vying to be her partner. The two-hour premiere will see her brother Nehemiah make “a shocking reveal” at the cocktail party, with the 25 men in attendance. 

The suitors include Aaron, a firefighter from San Diego; Joey, a tennis pro from San Francisco; Michael, a yacht captain from Chicago; and Caleb, a professional wrestler from Orlando, who is not to be confused with Caleb, a resident physician from Ann Arbor, or Kaleb, a construction salesman from Norcross, Georgia.

ABC talked up Lawson’s “confidence, compassion for helping others and magnetic smile.”

On before The Bachelorette on ABC is the season premiere of Claim to Fame. Kevin and Franklin Jonas host the show, which sees relatives of celebrities living together under one roof and hiding their identities, including their famous relatives, from their housemates. They compete in challenges, form strategic partnerships and “play DNA detective” in hopes of avoiding elimination, ABC said. The last remaining contestant gets $100,000. 

It is season two of Claim to Fame.

Season 19 of The Bachelorette will have two female leads, as Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey step onstage for the premiere July 11 on ABC. Both were on season 26 of The Bachelor, and were turned down in the finale by bachelor Clayton Echard. 

Thirty-two men battle for their attention, including Alec, a wedding photographer from Houston; Brandan, a bartender from Carlsbad, California; and James, a “meatball enthusiast” from Winnetka, Illinois. The twins Joey and Justin, from Brookfield, Connecticut, are also in the bachelor cast. 

“After unwavering support of each other through a devastating dual breakup in the season 26 finale of The Bachelor, fan favorites and fierce women Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey stand by each other’s side once again as they set out on a journey to find love,” according to ABC.

The season premiere of The Bachelorette happens Tuesday, Oct. 19 on ABC. Michelle Young is the bachelorette and Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams are the hosts. 

It is season 18. 

From Edina, Minnesota, Young is a fifth-grade teacher and former college basketball player. She was on the season of The Bachelor that aired earlier this year, when Matt James was the bachelor. “As a partner, Young describes herself as loyal, compassionate and supportive, and shows love through acts of service,” goes her ABC bio. “She has big dreams for the future and says she wants a man by her side that is supportive and driven to make the world a better place. She is looking for the Superman to her Superwoman and is ready to find a love with whom she can start a family of her own.”

Thirty men vie for Young’s love. They include Garrett, a tech CEO from Salt Lake City; Chris G., a motivational speaker from Nova Scotia, and Daniel, a firefighter from Austin. Also in the running is Bryan Witzmann, who played guard in the NFL. 

Bristowe and Adams stepped in as hosts after Chris Harrison departed.

ABC had the winning score in Monday prime, with The Bachelorette putting up a solid number. ABC rated a 0.7 in viewers 18-49, per the Nielsen overnights, and a 5 share. Tied for second were NBC, Fox and Univision, all at 0.4/3. 

The Bachelorette lost 11% for a 0.8 across two hours and the premiere of The Celebrity Dating Game, hosted by Zooey Deschanel and Michael Bolton, scored a 0.4. 

NBC had Olympic trials 8-10 p.m. and Small Fortune went up 50% to 0.3. 

On Fox, Hell’s Kitchen grew 17% to 0.7. Housebroken tallied a 0.3, then Duncanville a 0.2. The animated comedies were level with last week.  

Univision had Disnenando Tu Amor and Si Nos Dejan at flat 0.4s. La Hija Del Embajador shot up 50% to 0.3.

Telemundo was next at 0.3/2. Exatlon Estados Unidos and La Suerte De Loli both got a 0.3 while Cafe Con Aroma De Mujer did a 0.2. All three were flat with last week. 

The CW weighed in at 0.2/1. All American grew 50% to 0.3 and the series premiere of The Republic of Sarah, about a new nation forming in New Hampshire to stave off a greedy mining operation, scored a 0.1.

ABC won the Monday ratings battle easily, with the season premiere of The Bachelorette, which has Katie Thurston front row center, setting a good pace. ABC earned a 0.8 in viewers 18-49, per the Nielsen overnights, and a 5 share. In second were NBC and Fox, both at 0.4/3. 

The Bachelorette got a hearty 0.9 across two hours, and the season finale of The Good  Doctor shot up 50% to 0.6. Chris Harrison is not hosting The Bachelorette after stepping back earlier this year.

NBC had two hours of American Ninja Warrior at 0.4 and 0.5, same as last week, then Small Fortune shrunk 33% for a 0.2.

Fox had Hell’s Kitchen at 0.6. Housebroken got a 0.3 and Duncanville a 0.2. All were level with last week. 

CBS, Telemundo and Univision all scored a 0.3/2. CBS had reruns across prime.

The two-hour season premiere of The Bachelorette is on ABC June 7. Katie Thurston is the Bachelorette this season. She’ll get a hand from former Bachelorettes Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams, with longtime host Chris Harrison not on the show this season. He stepped back from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette in February after making controversial statements in an interview with former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay on Extra. 

"This historic season of The Bachelor should not be marred or overshadowed by my mistakes or diminished by my actions," Harrison said on Instagram at the time. 

Thirty men hope to win Thurston’s heart. The men include Andrew, a pro football player from Austria; Brandon, an auto parts manager from Queens, New York; Marty, a dancer from Reno; and Cody, a zipper sales manager from San Diego. 

Thurston, a bank marketing manager from Washington State, was a contestant on the last season of The Bachelor. 

Episodes are available the next day on Hulu. 

Chris Harrison will not host The Bachelorette when it returns. Former Bachelorette stars Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe will step in in what appears to be a temporary role. 

ABC did not share whether Harrison will host subsequent seasons.

Harrison stepped back from The Bachelor in February after making controversial statements in an interview with former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay on Extra. 

Producer Warner Horizon and ABC Entertainment said in a statement, “We support Chris in the work that he is committed to doing. In his absence, former Bachelorettes Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristow will support the new Bachelorette through next season. As we continue the dialogue around achieving greater equity and inclusion within The Bachelor franchise, we are dedicated to improving the BIPOC representation of our crew, including among the executive producer ranks. These are important steps in effecting fundamental change so that our franchise is a celebration of love that is reflective of our world.”

The Bachelorette will premiere later this year. 

Harrison defended contestant Rachael Kirkconnell after photos of her surfaced at a plantation-themed fraternity formal. Harrison apologized on Instagram and on Good Morning America. "This historic season of The Bachelor should not be marred or overshadowed by my mistakes or diminished by my actions," Harrison said on Instagram. 

Matt James is the bachelor this season, representing the first time a Black man has been the star of The Bachelor.

CBS had The Price is Right At Night and a primetime Let’s Make a Deal both at 0.6. An NCIS rerun closed out prime. 

NBC was just behind at 0.5/3 with repeats of The Voice and Saturday Night Live. 

Univision got a 0.4/2. Vencer El Desamor got a flat 0.5 and Imperio de Mentiras and Dulce Ambicion a 0.3, Imperio down a tenth and Dulce level. 

Fox and Telemundo both scored a 0.2/1. Fox had two hours of the Next finale up a tenth at 0.2. 

On Telemundo it was El Domo del Dinero at 0.1. Todo Por Mi Hija got a 0.3 and Falsa Identidad a 0.2. All Three were flat. 

The CW did a 0.1/0. The Swamp Thing finale and Tell Me a Story both got a flat 0.1.

The Bachelorette season finale is Dec. 22. It got a 1.2 across two hours, up from last week’s 1.0 and 0.9. The Bachelorette led into a rerun of CMA Country Christmas. 

Ratings were weak on the competition. CBS had comedy repeats and Kid of the Year at 0.2, then a Bull rerun. 

NBC had reruns of Dr. Seuss’s The Grinch Musical and Weakest Link. 

On Univision it was Vencer El Desamor down 20% to 0.4 and Imperio de Mentiras at a flat 0.3, then Dulce Ambicion off 33% to 0.2.

Fox and Telemundo both scored a 0.2/1. Fox had Next up a tenth for a 0.2 and a Cosmos: Possible Worlds repeat.

The CW rated a 0.1/1. Swamp Thing and Tell Me a Story both scored a 0.1. Swamp Thing lost a tenth and Tell Me a Story stayed level. 

ABC has shared its premiere dates for unscripted programs this fall. Celebrity Family Feud, Press Your Luck and Match Game debut Thursday, Sept. 24. Steve Harvey hosts Celebrity Family Feud, Elizabeth Banks hosts Press Your Luck and Alec Baldwin helms Match Game. 

The Bachelorette begins Tuesday, Oct. 13. Clare Crawley stars in season 16 and Chris Harrison hosts. 

Season 12 of Shark Tank begins Oct. 16. 

On Oct. 18, it’s the premieres of Alfonso Ribeiro-hosted America’s Funniest Home Videos (season 31), new show Supermarket Sweep, hosted by Leslie Jones, Jimmy Kimmel-hosted Who Wants to be a Millionaire and Joel McHale-hosted Card Sharks. 

ABC previously announced that Dancing with the Stars starts Sept. 14. Tyra Banks moves into the host role, and is an executive producer.

Scripted show premieres will be shared at a later time. The pandemic has caused production delays for all networks. 

ABC has shared its 2020-2021 schedule. New shows include the David E. Kelley thriller Big Sky and Kari Lizer comedy Call Your Mother, and a reboot of game show Supermarket Sweep, with Leslie Jones hosting. 

Mondays have season 29 of Dancing with the Stars and The Good Doctor. On Tuesdays it’s season 16 of The Bachelorette and Big Sky. Wednesdays it’s The Goldbergs, Black-ish, The Conners, American Housewife and Stumptown. On Thursdays it’s Station 19, season 17 of Grey’s Anatomy and A Million Little Things, and Fridays have season 12 of Shark Tank and 20/20. Saturday prime has football and Sunday has season 31 of America’s Funniest Home Videos, Supermarket Sweep, Who Wants to be a Millionaire and The Rookie. 

New seasons of American Idol, The Bachelor, For Life and Mixed-ish will premiere later in the season, as will Call Your Mother.

Big Sky sees a pair of private detectives join forces with one detective’s estranged wife to search for two sisters who have been kidnapped by a truck driver on a remote highway in Montana. But when they discover that these are not the only girls who have disappeared in the area, they must race to stop the killer before another woman is taken. Based on the series of books by C.J. Box, Big Sky is executive produced by Kelley, Ross Fineman, Matthew Gross, Paul McGuigan and Box, and is produced by A+E Studios in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Kelley is showrunner. 

Call Your Mother is a multicamera comedy about an empty-nester mother, played by Kyra Sedgwick, who reinserts herself into her children’s lives. It is produced by Sony Pictures Television & ABC Studios.

Remaining in the public eye, and utilizing a recently established $25 million credit line earmarked for program acquisition, Tubi has announced the licensing of reality series “The Bachelor” for its ad-supported streaming platform.

The deal with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution will not only include “select” early seasons of the hit ABC reality show, but also spinoff series “The Bachelorette.”

“‘Bachelor’ Nation will soon get to see how it all started when both debut seasons launch on Tubi,” said Adam Lewinson, chief content officer for Tubi, in a statement. “This massive franchise strengthens our larger content partnership with Warner Bros. and marks the first of many big reality series we’re bringing to the service.”

Tubi was in M&A talks with Viacom, shortly before the media giant paid $340 million to buy another AVOD platform, Pluto TV.

Shortly after that January Viacom announcement, Tubi touted the establishment of a $25 million loan, earmarked as part of a "nine-figure initiative" to grow its programming library.

Tubi announced a content licensing deal for a bunch of NBCUniversal archival shows two weeks ago. And it’s likely to keep on trickling out these series licensing announcements, as Tubi seeks to keep its name "out there" amid a wave of acquisition rumors for AVOD assets.

For example, Sinclair Broadcast Group is rumored to be shopping for an AVOD platform, with its name tied to Xumo in recent weeks.
