Season four of comedy-thriller Search Party is on HBO Max in January. The season sees Dory, played by Alia Shawkat, held prisoner by her psychotic stalker Chip (Cole Escola), who wants to make Dory believe they are best friends.

Meredith Hagner, John Early and John Reynolds are also in the cast. 

Turning up as guests are Susan Sarandon, Busy Philipps, Ann Dowd, Griffin Dunne and Lillias White. Sarandon plays Lylah, the unapologetically wealthy aunt of Chip, Dory’s kidnapper.

Children’s author R.L. Stine has a cameo role. 

The first two seasons of Search Party were on TBS.

Award-winning actresses Susan Sarandon and Edie Falco will star in YouTube Red’s original film Vulture Club, debuting later this year.

Sarandon, Falco and Matt Bomer star in the Maram Keshavarz-directed film, which follows a veteran emergency room nurse who turns to a community of journalists and advocates looking to help free her journalist son from capture by a terrorist group.

The movie will premiere in theaters later this year before debuting on the YouTube Red subscription service. Vulture Club is produced by YouTube in association with MaraKesh Films and is executive produced by Anna Gerb, Neal Dodson and J.C. Chandor. 

“This emotional drama grapples with relevant issues journalists around the world face today. Actress Susan Sarandon will appear in the Showtime series Ray Donovan in a season-long guest arc, the network said.

Sarandon, an Oscar winner for the 1996 film Dead Man Walking, will play Samantha Winslow, the head of a motion picture studio, in the fifth season of Ray Donovan, which begins this summer. The series averaged 5.1 million viewers across platforms in season four.

Sarandon’s five Oscar nominations for lead actress are exceeded by only eight people in history (including Bette Davis, whom Sarandon plays in the limited series Feud, pictured). Her notable film work also includes Bull Durham, Thelma and Louise, Lorenzo’s Oil and Atlantic City.

Having enjoyed great success with its true-crime limited series People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, FX is tapping the true Hollywood genre for its next big hit, Feud: Bette and Joan.

Producer Ryan Murphy, who helmed The People v. O.J. Simpson, takes the reins of this eight-part limited series, which chronicles the backstage battle between aging stars Joan Crawford and Bette Davis during the filming of their only project together, the 1962 cult classic What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?

The series stars Jessica Lange as Crawford and Susan Sarandon as Davis at the twilight of their careers in the early 1960s, a time when both actresses were unable to secure leading roles in a youth-dominated Hollywood. Particularly bitter about her treatment is Crawford, who — in one of the first scenes in the series — scowls at younger actress Marilyn Monroe after the Some Like It Hot wins the Golden Globe for best actress. As Monroe parades up to receive her reward, a petulant Crawford startles everyone at her table, saying, “I’ve got great tits, too, but I don’t throw them in everyone’s face.”

Recently widowed and nearly broke, Crawford looks for a script to mark her triumphant return to the screen, and finds the perfect vehicle in a horror-thriller book about the lives of two aging actresses, an invalid and her abusive custodian. She convinces her nemesis Davis — now in her 50s and forced to turn to Broadway for roles — to be her co-star in the film.

While Crawford and Davis realize they need each other to relaunch their movie careers, their often-petty competitiveness threatens to torpedo What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? before it delivers on the first dollar at the box office.

The Crawford-Davis grudge is legendary. But as with The People v. O.J. Simpson, the anticipation of how the story will unwind is the biggest draw. Murphy continues his mastery of retelling stories that have been examined, poked and explored numerous times, while wrapping the familiar storyline into a broader context — this time, sexism in Hollywood.

Feud benefits from terrific performances by Lange and Sarandon, as well as a supporting cast that includes Judy Davis as notorious gossip columnist Hedda Hopper and Alfred Molina as director Robert Aldrich.

Academy Award winning actress Susan Sarandon is set to appear in Lifetime’s upcoming original miniseries Marilyn, network officials said.

The four-hour miniseries, based on best-selling book The Secret Life Of Marilyn Monroe, which will take a behind the scenes look at the iconic actress’ life. Sarandon (Dead Man Walking) will play Monroe’s mentally ill mother in the film, which will be produced by Asylum Entertainment and executively produced by Jonathan Koch, Steve Michaels, Keri Selig and Stephen Kronish.

Marilyn will debut on Lifetime in 2015, said network officials.
