AMC Networks may be looking to add several Internet movie-streaming services to its portfolio later this year as it looks to extend its reach beyond traditional cable.

Sources close to the company said AMC is looking at launching at least one package of genre-based movie content, potentially within the horror and suspense genres. The packages, which could launch as soon as late this year, would join AMC’s other streaming services — Yeah!, which offers hundreds of movies, including Pulp Fiction, The Shining, No Country for Old Men, Dirty Dancing and A Nightmare on Elm Street, for a $4.99 rental price, and its SundanceNOW online streaming service, which offers hundreds of classic and new independent films.

The new services are not expected to include any of AMC’s original programming or series. Officials from AMC Networks would not comment on the matter.
