BET will jump into the after-show arena this month with The Tyler Perry Show, which  will offer behind-the-scenes looks at the prolific producer’s hit shows, the network said Friday.

The first special will debut Aug. 18 and will take place after the midseason finale of  BET drama series Tyler Perry’s Sistas, said the network. Perry will host the two-hour Tyler Perry Show: The Sistas After-Show Edition, where he will spotlight the series in front of a live audience, according to the network.

BET said additional episodes of The Tyler Perry Show, will be announced at a later date. 

Streaming service Apple TV+ will stream for free a new special, Oprah Talks COVID-19 -- The Deadly Impact on Black America, the service said Tuesday. 

The special features an in-depth conversation featuring Oprah Winfrey as she discusses the effects COVID-19 pandemic is having on African-Americans across the country, said Apple TV+ officials. Appearing on the special will be CNN personality Van Jones, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, and Dr. Aletha Maybank, chief health equity officer at the American Medical Association.

The special is part of Apple’s Oprah Talks COVID-19, a new weekly series offering timely conversations around the global health crisis, said the company. 

OWN will televise the special at 11 pm this evening (April 14), said network officials. 

History this Sunday (July 9) will unveil new evidence about the disappearance of Amelia Earhart in a new two-hour special.

Amelia Earhart: The Lost Evidence will provide never-before-seen documents surrounding the mysterious July 2, 1937 disapperance of Earhart and her flight navigator Fred Noonan, including a photograph presumed to be Earhart and Noonan after their crash, according to History officials.

Additionally, Amelia Earhart: The Lost Evidence presents evidence verified by some of the most reputable professionals in the world including: plane parts found in an uninhabited island of the Marshall Islands by Earhart Investigator, Dick Spink, consistent with the aircraft that Earhart was flying in 1937; and an original interview with the last living eyewitness who claims to have seen Earhart and Noonan after their crash, said History.
