Kartoon Studios said that Season 2 of the animated series Shaq’s Garage is streaming on Kartoon Channel!

The company said Season 1 of Shaq’s Garage contributed to subscriber growth and generated revenue and profit growth.

A nursery rhyme series also featuring former NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal, Baby Shaq, is expected to have its debut in Q4, the company said.

“The first season of Shaq’s Garage drove significant growth for our kid's streaming service Kartoon Channel in terms of subscribers and revenue growth,” said Todd Steinman, president of Toon Networks at Kartoon Studios. “The second season has even more high-energy adventures, heartwarming moments, and positive messages. We are excited to continue our partnership with Shaquille O’Neal and deliver more engaging, value-oriented content that our audience loves."

Shaq’s Garage: Maximum Horsepower can be seen on platforms including Amazon Prime Video Channels, Tubi, Pluto TV, Xumo, Comcast, Cox, Dish, Sling, Roku, Samsung and LG.  

Meta said it is planning to stream a virtual reality New Year's Eve special hosted by former NBA great and TNT basketball analyst Shaquille O'Neal.

The Shaqtacular Spectacular will be available across Meta's properties including Meta Horizon Worlds, Meta Quest, Facebook, Instagram and Messenger's Watch Together.

The one-hour program will feature  Cardi B., Killer Mike, Ludacris, Lil Yachty, Rob Gronkowski and Camille Kostek.

The special will be available starting at 6:30 p.m. ET and repeated on a loop all night.

During the show , Shaq and the performers will be on a center stage surrounded by a roller rink, basketball court and main stage, featuring a marching band, cheerleaders, skaters, hoopers and fans. Viewers will be able to replicate the dance-offs on the show on a virtual dance floor.

Netflix's takeoff on the classic comedy series The Addams Family leads a light schedule of show premieres during the Thanksgiving holiday week. 

The streaming service's eight-episode Wednesday series debuts November 23 and follows the exploits of Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy, according to Netflix. Jenna Ortega stars as Wednesday, while Catherine Zeta-Jones portrays Morticia Addams and Luis Guzman stars as Gomez Addams.

Debuting November 22 on Hulu is Welcome to Chippendales, an eight-episode series which chronicles the life of founder of the infamous male-stripping franchise, according to the steaming service.

HBO will chronicle the life and career of NBA Hall-of-Famer Shaquille O’Neal in a new documentary series debuting in November.

The four-part series, Shaq, will focus on the basketball legend whose larger-than-life personality transcended the sport and transformed him into a cultural icon, according to the network. 

The series will feature interviews with O’Neal’s teammates Penny Hardaway, Dwayne Wade, Dennis Scott, Brian Shaw, Derek Fisher and Rick Fox as it documents O'Neal's  ascent to NBA superstardom — which included four NBA titles and a league Most Valuable Player honor — as well as his successful off-the-court broadcasting and business ventures, HBO said. 

Shaq is produced by Robert Alexander and Peter Berg’s Film 45 production company.

O’Neal said in a statement: “We kept this documentary real from the start, and I do feel like it is the most honest look into my life and career up until this point. This process allowed me to reflect publicly in a way I haven’t before, and I’m so proud of the work everyone has done to put it all together.” ■

TNT will bring back its unscripted series Shaq Life for its sophomore campaign beginning Dec. 2, while returning its scripted drama series Claws for its fourth and final season on Dec.19, according to network officials.

Shaq Life offers unprecedented access into the life of NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, with the second season finding O’Neal focusing on fulfilling some lifelong dreams, including appearing on TNT-distributed wrestling show AEW:Dynamite as well as hosting a virtual celeb-filled Super Bowl event, according to the network. 

The nail salon-themed series Claws, which stars Niecy Nash, continues with Nash’s character Desna Simms -- along with her crew of manicurists -- continuing to rise to power in the crime world to claim their share of cash and respect, according to the network. TNT rescheduled the final season premiere date of Claws to Dec. 19 from its initial date of Dec. 26.

Shaq Life is executive produced by Michael Bloom, Perry Rogers, Colin Smeeton and Tess Gamboa. Claws is executive produced by Janine Sherman Barrois, Rashida Jones, Will McCormack, Eliot Laurence, Sharon Lee Watson and Emily Silver. 

TNT will take an inside look at its long-running NBA series Inside The NBA as part of a four-part documentary debuting March 4.

The series, The Inside Story, looks at the 30-year history of the series, which features Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal -- from its creation to its current fan and league popularity, according to the network.

The documentary features never-before-seen footage and interviews with celebrities, production crew members and sports reporters discussing how the show was able to straddle the lines of sports and entertainment, with a willingness to push the boundaries as it engages viewers in an impactful and enjoyable way.

The documentary series will run over four consecutive nights beginning March 4.

“Inside the NBA is a unique show that has had significant cultural impact within the sports broadcasting landscape,” said Craig Berry, chief content officer for Turner Sports. “That is attributed to the authenticity and chemistry of Ernie, Charles, Kenny and Shaq, along with countless people who have contributed to its success through the years. Former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal is starring in and executive producing an animated kids show for Genius Brands International and as part of the deal is becoming a shareholder in Genius Brands.

The series, Shaq’s Garage, will turn O’Neal’s real collection of cars into characters. The series is expected to have its premiere in 2022 on Kartoon Channel!, an ad-supported network that was launched in June.

“Ever since I was a kid I have been fascinated by cars,” said O’Neal, now a basketball analyst for TNT. 

“I’m so excited to bring this series to life with Genius Brands. We plan to showcase the most amazing, tricked out assortment of vehicles that can only be found in my garage,” said O’Neal. “They will all have larger than life personalities, larger than life missions and of course, larger than life sound systems. One of our cars is a vehicle missing a wheel, but she is as strong, fast, and smart as any other vehicle. This will be a kid’s show which will highlight inclusivity for all.”

Shaq’s Garage will be executive produced by Genius Brands, PRP and ABG Entertainment, a division of Authentic Brands Group. 

“We challenged ourselves to come up with the most exciting storylines and vehicle designs inspired by Toy Story, Tony Stark, and 007!, that could only be imagined by ‘Big Diesel,’ himself,” said Genius Brands CEO Andy Heyward. “The lead vehicle is named Big Diesel and will be voiced by Shaq.”

All of the vehicles from Shaq’s Garage will have unique attributes and skills, with some musically inclined and others fluent in a secret language called Shaq-anese.

“Through comedy and adventure, we will showcase strong and diverse characters as positive role models with purposeful storytelling. This is going to be a special show that touches every button--music, adventure, humor, and positive prideful messaging for kids,” said Heyward. “I have known and admired Shaq for many years and am thrilled that we can come together to make this important show for all kids around the world, and Shaq will become a part of the Genius Brands family.  

AT&T’s Turner Sports said it signed a new multi-year contract extension with Shaquille O’Neal, the 15-time NBA all star and analyst for Inside the NBA and TNT Tuesday Night.

In addition to appearing on basketball coverage, O’Neal will work on entertainment and creative projects for AT&T’s WarnerMedia.

Upcoming is The Business of Basketball for NBA TV and an expansion of the Shaqtin-a-Fool franchise. He is also the executive producer of projects for Bleacher Reports.

In addition, O’Neal will also be a part of CNN’s New Year’s Live Show.

“Turner Sports is family to me – even you, Chuck – and I’m looking forward to working alongside my talented colleagues as we create many more Shaq-tastic moments in the years to come,” said O’Neal, who has worked with Turner and Charles Barkley since 2011.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Amazon Studios has released six new, scripted pilots as part of its fall pilot season, the company said Thursday.

Among the new pilots available for Amazon subscribers to vote on for potential series include Z (pictured), a bio-series starring Christina Ricci (Monster) and based on the life of Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald, wife of writer F. Scott Fitzgerald; Highston, a comedy which follows a 19-year old with a wide circle of celebrity friends that only he can see and featuring NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal and Flea (The Big Lewbowski); and western-themed Edge, based on George Gilman’s best-selling book series of the same name starring Max Martini (Pacific Rim, Captain Phillips) and Ryan Kwanten (True Blood).

Also on the docket are Good Girls Revolt, which follows a group of female journalists facing sexual discrimination in the late 1960’s; One Mississippi, executive produced by Louis CK (Louie) follows a young woman dealing with the complex reentry into her childhood hometown of Bay Saint Lucille, Mississippi; and Patriot, a political thriller that follows the life of an intelligent officer tasked with preventing Iran from going nuclear.

Amazon’s fall pilot season also features several kids shows, including pre-school targeted shows If You Give A Mouse A Cookie and The Numberlys; animated series Danger & Eggs, Eddie of the Realms Eternal and Everstar; and tween targeted series Yoyotoki HappyEars!

TruTV will tap former NBA All-Star Shaquille O’Neal to produce and star in a new pilot sitcom, the network announced Friday.

The series, Shaq Inq. Is loosely based on the frenetic business empire of the NBA legend and will follow O’Neal and the team who runs his numerous ventures, said network officials.

O’Neal, who serves as an analyst for Turner Sports' basketball coverage, which also airs on TruTV during March Madness, will executive produce the show along with Mike Tollin (Smallville, Arli$$). and will be produced by Mandalay Sports Media.

“There is no denying Shaq’s multifaceted appeal,” said Chris Linn, president, head of programming for truTV in a statement. “Thus, we couldn’t be happier to be collaborating with him, as well as Mike Tollin and Mandalay Sports Media, as we continue to push into new formats.”
