Peacock will develop a documentary series revolving around NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana, the streaming service said Tuesday.

The multi-part Montana series will chronicle the quarterback’s career from his earliest days as a high school All-American to college national champion at Notre Dame to a four-time Super Bowl winner as quarterback for the San Francisco 49’ers, said Peacock.

NFL Films will produce the series, the latest in Peacock’s sports-themed documentary library which also includes My Pursuit: Life, Legacy & Jordan Burroughs, In Deep with Ryan Lochte, Lost Speedways and Michael Phelps: Medals, Memories and More. 

Peacock Tuesday also greenlit a new WWE-based series hosted  by Jon Cena. WWE Evil takes viewers into the minds of the most diabolical antagonists in WWE history, and their impact on mainstream culture, according to the streaming service.

The COVID-19 pandemic has sacked the San Francisco 49'ers as new pandemic guidelines instituted by Santa Clara Country -- where the team plays its home games -- ban all contact sports for at least three weeks effective Monday, according to reports.

As a result, the team's Dec. 7 Monday Night Football home game against the Buffalo Bills and its Dec. 13 contest against the Washington Football Team will have to be relocated from its Levi's Stadium home field to another location outside the county, according to ESPN.com. The team will also have to find new practice facilities.

The 49'ers Saturday released a statement saying that it is working with the NFL and partners "on operational plans" going forward. 

The ban also affects operations for the NHL's San Jose Sharks as well as local college football and basketball teams.

The move adds more complications to an NFL schedule significantly altered by the pandemic. The league has had to postpone the Baltimore Ravens-Pittsburgh Steelers Thanksgiving night game twice this week due to increasing positive COVID-19 tests among Ravens players. The game will now be played on Tuesday (Dec. 1)

The league's Ravens-Dallas Cowboys game scheduled for Nov. 3 has also been rescheduled for Dec. 7, according to league officials.

Super Bowl LIV on Fox scored 102 million viewers on traditional television and streaming services Sunday night, the 10th most-watched Super Bowl in history, according to Nielsen. The audience tally includes viewers tuning into Fox broadcasting and Fox Deportes’ live broadcasts, as well as Fox, NFL and Verizon's live digital streaming offerings, said Fox Sports and Nielsen.

The game, in which the Kansas City Chiefs scored three fourth quarter touchdowns in a come-from-behind 31-20 win over the San Francisco 49’ers, topped the 100 million viewers generated by CBS’ telecast of the New England Patriots-Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl LIII contest last year.

Fox’s coverage of the Pepsi Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show, which featured performances from Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, averaged 103 million viewers, said Fox Sports and Nielsen -- up 4% over last year’s halftime performance featuring Maroon 5.
