The opening day of the annual Comic-Con International Convention in San Diego generated some big programming news for several cable and OTT networks.

--Comedy Central Thursday renewed its freshman animated series Legends Of Chamberlain Heights for a second season months before its debut, said network officials. The high school-themed series debuts Sept. 14 on the network, said officials.

"This show pushes the envelope far enough to warrant a second season before season one even airs," said Comedy Central Kent Alterman.

--MTV announced during its Comic-Con panel yesterday that it would end its drama/horror series Teen Wolf after its sixth season. The 20-episode season will debut later this fall and will end in 2017 with its 100th episode, according to network officals. 

--Netflix announced that it will bring back its Marvel-based original series Daredevil for a third season while debuting official trailers for two more superhero-themed series Iron Fist and Luke Cage.

Among the networks and shows presenting today include AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead, HBO’s Game Of Thrones, Freeform’s Dead Of Summer, Adult Swim’s Samurai Jack, Starz’s American Gods, A&E’s Bates Motel, BBC America’s Orphan Black, Comedy Central’s South Park, WGN’s Salem, History’s Vikings, AMC’s Preacher, and Syfy’s Sharknado: The 4th Awakens.
