Full Frontal with Samantha Bee will not return on TBS. The weekly late-night show lasted for seven seasons.

We’re so thankful for our loyal audience, our amazing team, and that we got to annoy the right people every week—that there wasn't wrestling or baseball or a very special episode of Big Bang,” said @FullFrontalSamB on Twitter. 

Bee was a correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart before starting Full Frontal.

When season seven was announced last year, TBS said, “Shining a spotlight on important issues and people, Sam provides needed commentary and asks questions of authority and ourselves that need to be asked,” while noting Bee’s knack for timely and topical humor. 

The series is executive-produced by Bee, Jones, Tony Hernandez of Jax Media, Miles Kahn, Alison Camillo and Pat King. ■

TBS has renewed late-night show Full Frontal with Samantha Bee for season six, which begins Jan. 13. Samantha Bee hosts and executive produces. 

“A trailblazing force in late night, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee has continued to use political satire to entertain, educate and empower viewers while keeping the government in check,” said TBS. “This year, Bee also blazed an actual trail from her NYC studio to her backyard, where she taped new episodes during the pandemic with help from her husband and fellow executive producer, Jason Jones.”

TBS also renewed its first look deal with Bee’s production company, Swimsuit Competition.

After creating award-winning episodes from the dire elements of her backyard, I can’t wait to see what she does with some electricity and a roof over her head," said Brett Weitz, general manager of TNT, TBS and truTV.  “She is a champion for important causes and brings issues to light that inspire, entertain and educate.” 

Bee was a correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart before starting Full Frontal. The weekly program reaches close to 3.5 million viewers per episode, according to TBS.  

“It’s a huge honor to get to keep doing this crazy, smart and silly show for a sixth season,” said Bee. “Is it official though? Are we still waiting for Pennsylvania to certify the sixth season?” 

The series is executive produced by Bee, Jones, Tony Hernandez of Jax Media, Miles Kahn, Alison Camillo, and Pat King.

TBS will premiere the fourth season of its comedy series The Detour on June 18, the network said Tuesday.

The series, created, written and executive produced by Jason Jones and Samantha Bee, follows the comedic exploits of a not so typical family, according to network officials.

Jones stars in The Detour along with Natalie Zea, Ashley Gerasimovich and Liam Carroll. Season four finds the dysfunctional Parker family on a world-wide search for their runaway teen daughter, Delilah, according to TBS.

The Detour is executive produced by Jason Jones, Samantha Bee, Brennan Shroff, Chad Carter, Chad Oakes and Mike Frislev.

TBS will bring back its late night series Full Frontal With Samantha Bee for two more seasons, the network said Thursday.

The series, which premiered in 2016 and averages four million total viewers per episode across TBS’s linear VOD and digital platforms, will return on Feb. 7, said network officials.

“No one does political comedy like Full Frontal; a two-season pickup is an obvious decision,” said Thom Hinkle, executive vice president of original programming for TBS, in a statement. “Sam and her team have been relentlessly incisive in their satire, and the awards recognition and their growing viewership reflect that. Along with new episodes, expect more specials and a lot more blazers.”

The network has also renewed freshman unscripted series Snoop Dogg PresentsThe Joker’s Wild and Drop The Mic for second seasons. The reboot of the classic game show The Joker’s Wild, as well as the musical face off series, will return this spring, network officials said.

TBS also announced that it will premiere Tracy Morgan’s new series The Last O.G. on April 3. The series, executive produced by Morgan and Jordan Peele (Key and Peele) follows an ex-con shocked to see just how much the world has changed when he is released from prison for good behavior after a 15-year stint.

TBS' Samantha Bee will be hosting an alternative banquet April 29, Not the White House Correspondents' Dinner, against the annual roast of the president, and presidential roast of the media, that has usually drawn a huge Hollywood contingent, from the cast of House of Cards to Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.

President Donald Trump has not waited for the dinner to roast the media, which he has consistently slammed as biased and out to delegitimize his election. Over the weekend he suggested The New York Times was Fake News, as he has CNN, and said it should either be remade or folded.

The dinner will be held at the Willard Hotel in Washington. The real correspondents' association dinner will be the same night uptown at the Hilton Hotel in Washington.

The event will air on TBS and the proceeds will go to the Committee to Protect Journalists, "whether they like it or not," says Bee, the host of Full Frontal with Samantha Bee on TBS.

"We're really doing this," Bee said in a TBS release. "This is not a joke."

Bee did aim a few jokes at the famously thin-skinned 45th president's harangues at the media. "The evening is sure to bring plenty of surprises, music, food, and laughter -- and if you're not careful you just might learn something. Specifically, you'll learn how screwed we'd be without a free press."

As recently as Monday, Trump echoed his aide Steve Bannon labeling the media his opponents, tweeting: "Where was all the outrage from Democrats and the opposition party (the media) when our jobs were fleeing our country?" He also said both the Times and The Washington Post were dishonest with dwindling readership and subscribership.

TBS was feeling their pain, and said the dinner would be an opportunity to "welcome journalists and non-irritating celebrities from around the world," adding: "We suspect some members of the press may find themselves unexpectedly free that night, and we want to feed them and give them hugs."

TBS has greenlit a new scripted comedy pilot from The Daily Show's Jason Jones & Samantha Bee, network officials said Tuesday.

Jones will star in the pilot, which follows a family as they take a road trip to Key West, said network officials.

“As we continue to move TBS in new and exciting directions, we believe that comedies like this will truly resonate with our target audience of young adults,” said Brett Weitz, senior vice president of scripted development for TBS and TNT in a statement. "We’re thrilled to be working with Jason & Sam Bee, two of The Daily Show's breakout stars and two of the funniest writers in the business.”
