HBO and Max drew the most Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations in the television category, nearly doubling the nods tallied by their closest competition.

Combined, the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned cable network and streamer garnered 14 SAG Awards nominations, outpacing second-place Apple TV Plus’s eight nominations and Netflix’s seven nods, according to SAG-AFTRA, which announced the nominations during a Wednesday morning ceremony. 

HBO/Max was paced by the drama series Succession, which earned five nominations, including one for best ensemble in a drama series, and The Last of Us, which drew four nominations, along with FX’s The Bear and Apple TV Plus’s Ted Lasso.

HBO shows Succession, which ended its four-year run last spring, The Last of Us and The Gilded Age will compete with Netflix’s The Crown and Apple TV Plus’s The Morning Show for best drama series. ABC’s Abbott Elementary will look to repeat in the best comedy series against The Bear, HBO’s Barry, Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, and Ted Lasso. 

The Bear’s Jeremy Allen White will look to take home his second straight SAG Award statuette in the best male actor in a comedy series category, which also features The Bear’s Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Brett Goldstein and Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso), and Bill Hader (Barry).  

The 30th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will stream live on Netflix on February 24.

FX will debut the second season of its comedy series The Bear June 22 on Hulu.

The award-winning series stars Jeremy Allen White as Carmen Berzatto, a young chef who returns to his home to run his family’s sandwich shop after the death of one of his relatives, according to FX. The 10-episode second season finds Carmen along with his partners trying to transform the grimy sandwich joint into a "next-level" spot. 

Season one of The Bear earned a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Critics’ Choice Award for White in the comedy acting category. The series also stars Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Abby Elliot, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colon-Zayas and Matty Matheson.

The Bear is executive produced by Christopher Storer, Joanna Calo, Hiro Murai, Josh Senior and Matty Matheson.

HBO’s The White Lotus was the big winner at the Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony in the television category, taking home multiple statuettes Sunday during a live event streamed live on Netflix’s YouTube channel.

The White Lotus, which follows the exploits of privileged guests at a luxurious resort, won the SAG Award for best ensemble performance in a drama series, as well as an outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series statuette for series star Jennifer Coolidge. 

ABC’s Abbott Elementary won for best ensemble performance in a comedy series, while Jean Smart was a repeat winner in the outstanding performance by a female actor in a comedy series for her role in HBO’s Hacks.

The live event was streamed live on Netflix’s YouTube channel after previously airing on TBS and TNT. Netflix will air next year’s SAG Awards ceremony as part of a multi-year partnership with the organization. 

On the film side, Everything Everywhere All At Once took home the majority of motion picture SAG Awards, including outstanding performance be a cast in a motion picture.

Many of the sponsors have been integrated into the event. City National Bank is presenting The Actor Statuette Room and the SAG Awards Engraving Station.

Campari this year becomes the official spirits partner of the SAG Awards. A variety of Campari cocktails will be available at the awards show and red carpet. Water will be provided by Purely Sedona and Beer by Santa Monica Brew Works, the only craft production brewery on the westside of L.A.

Cooper’s Hawk will present the event’s Green Room, with a bar featuring wines and sangria cocktails. Charlotte Tilbury Beauty will provide a touch-station for winners and presenters.

Tide is presenting the livestream’s audio descriptions, reinforcing the SAG Awards’ commitment to inclusion with the blind and low-vision community.

Each sponsor also pledged a sum to be donated to the Foundation’s emergency relief efforts and performers’ programs. ■

Netflix, which is dipping its toes in the live-streaming water with a Chris Rock standup special in March, has committed itself to become the live-streaming partner for the awards event that originally put the streaming giant on the Hollywood trophy map eight years ago, the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Netflix will live stream the 29th Annual SAG Awards on its YouTube channel on Sunday, February 26. And starting next year under a multiyear agreement, Netflix will stream the event on its main platform -- which will ostensibly have built out a dedicated annex for live events by that time.

Warner Bros. Discovery cable outlet TNT had served as the exclusive live TV partner for the SAG Awards since 1998. But the heavily leveraged media conglomerate, in the midsts of $3.5 billion in cuts, elected not to re-up its contract with SAG.

“As we begin to explore live streaming on Netflix, we look forward to partnering with SAG-AFTRA to elevate and expand this special ceremony as a global live event in 2024 and the years to come," said Bela Bajaria, Netflix head of global TV, in a statement.

Traveling back in time to the more formative years of Netflix's original series expansion, it was recognition by the SAG Awards that preceded love from the Emmys and the Oscars.

In February 2015, House of Cards star Kevin Spacey received one of Netflix's first major showbiz awards when he won SAG's best lead actor in a drama series trophy. Spacey and co-star Robin Wright would go on to win both of the Emmys' dramatic series lead actor categories later that fall.

For the 29th iteration of the SAG Awards, Netflix has nominations in almost every major TV category, and some in some film categories, too -- including Eddie Redmayne for his title role in The Good Nurse.

The Screen Actors Guild Awards will stream live on Netflix starting in 2024 in a multi-year partnership. Netflix will stream the 2023 awards, happening next month, on its YouTube channel, and the awards will be on the main platform next year. It is a rare example of Netflix airing live programming.

The SAG Awards salute the best in television and film.

The 29th annual SAG Awards is on Sunday, February 26, at Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles. Nominees are announced January 11, with Ashley Park of Emily in Paris and Haley Lu Richardson of The White Lotus hosting. 

TBS and TNT previously aired the event.

HBO was the big draw at Sunday’s Critics Choice Awards event, garnering more wins than any other distributor.

The ceremony, simulcast live on TBS and The CW, saw HBO/HBO Max win 10 Critics Choice Awards, topping Netflix’s seven wins and Apple TV Plus’s five statuettes, said the Critics Choice Association. 

Apple TV’s Ted Lasso continued its strong TV awards season, winning four Critics Choice Awards to top all series. The show matched its Emmy Award for best comedy with a Critics Choice win in the category, along with wins for best actor (Jason Sudeikis) best supporting actor (Brett Goldstein) and best supporting actress (Hannah Waddingham).

HBO's Succession added the Critics Choice Award for best drama to its 2022 Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards wins in the category. Series stars Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook took home Critics Choice Award statuettes in the best supporting actor and actress categories, respectively. 

Netflix original film The Power of the Dog took home best picture honors, along with a best director statuette for Jane Campion.

Netflix continued its awards season success Sunday, dominating SAG Awards wins in both the television and motion picture categories during a televised primetime ceremony.

The streaming service won four SAG Awards in the television category to lead all distributors, doubling the take of second place Pop TV's two award wins.

Netflix was once again led by The Crown, which repeated as the top choice in the outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series category. The Crown star Gillian Anderson also won a SAG Award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series.

Pop TV’s Schitt’s Creek won two awards in the comedy category, including outstanding ensemble as well as best actress in a comedy series for Catherine O’Hara.

On the movie front, Netflix won three awards, including two for original movie Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom stars Viola Davis and the late Chadwick Boesman, who took home SAG Awards for outstanding lead female and male actor in a motion picture, respectively.

Netflix followed its strong Golden Globes nominations performance with an impressive tally of SAG Awards nominations in both the television and film categories, the Screen Actors Guild announced Thursday morning.

On television, Netflix -- which drew an industry-high 22 Golden Globes TV nominations on Feb. 3 -- topped all networks and streaming services with 17 SAG Awards nominations, more than doubling HBO's seven nominations. Netflix's freshman series Bridgerton -- which was shut out of any Golden Globes nominations -- will compete against Ozark and The Crown in the best ensemble in a drama series category with HBO’s Lovecraft Country and AMC’s Better Call Saul.

Overall The Crown and Pop TV's Schitt's Creek led all shows with five nominations each.

Netflix also swept the best female actor in a drama series category, with The Crown’s Gillian Anderson, Olivia Colman and Emma Colman going up against Ozark’s Julia Garner and Laura Linney.

The best comedy series ensemble will feature Netflix’s Dead To Me along with HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant, Hulu’s The Great, Pop TV’s Schitt’s Creek and Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso.

HBO's I May Destroy You and Netflix's Dead To Me also drew SAG Awards nominations after being snubbed by the Golden Globes. 

On the motion picture front, Netflix dominated the best cast in a motion picture category with Spike Lee’s war drama Da 5 Bloods -- which was ignored by the Golden Globes -- Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and The Trial of The Chicago 7 all getting nominations. Foreign-language film Minari and Amazon Prime’s One Night In Miami will also vie for top honors. 

Netflix drew 13 SAG Awards movie nominations, easily besting Amazon Studios' four  nods. 

The late Chadwick Boseman received two nominations for his lead acting role in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and supporting role in Da 5 Bloods in addition to nominations as part of both movie's ensemble casts.

The 27th annual SAG Awards will air live April 4 on TNT and TBS.

The SAG Awards is the latest event to be rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the live show now scheduled for March 14, 2021, SAG Awards executive producer Kathy Connell announced Friday.

The event, which was originally scheduled for Jan. 24, will also change the eligibility period for motion pictures, primetime television, cable and new media programs by two months. Content debuting from Jan. 1, 2020 to Feb. 28, 2021 are now eligible, according to SAG. 

Nominations for the 27th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be announced on Feb. 4, said SAG.

The move comes as other major awards shows have also changed its previously announced January dates due to the pandemic, including the Golden Globes Awards, which will now take place Feb. 28, and the Critics Choice Awards, which has been rescheduled for March 7.

Netflix once again flexed its muscles within the awards arena by garnering the most Screen Actors Guild nominations in both the television and film categories, SAG announced this morning in Los Angeles. 

Much like its Golden Globe awards performance earlier this week, Netflix drew more nominations than any other broadcast, cable and streaming service. The streaming service  garnered 13 nominations, topping HBO’s 10 and Prime Video’s seven award nominations, according to SAG.

Netflix also drew seven nominations in the motion picture category, led by four nominations for Martin Scorsese drama The Irishman, said SAG.

Prime Video’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel was the most nominated TV show with four SAG Awards nods, including two best female comedy actor recognitions for Alex Borstein and Rachel Brosnahan.

The SAG Awards Ceremony will be simulcast live on Jan. 19 on TNT and TBS at 8 p.m.

TBS & TNT's live simulcast of the 25th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards was the most social television show last week, according to Nielsen. 

The awards show drew 1.7 million Facebook, Instagram and Twitter interactions, topping all television shows for the week of Jan. 21-27, according to Nielsen’s social content ratings report.

USA Network’s WWE Monday Night Raw was second with 1.2 million social media interactions, followed by Fox broadcasting’s Rent, NBC’s America’s Got Talent and NBC’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

USA’s WWE Smackdown!, the CW’s Riverdale, NBC’s This Is Us, ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy and Univision’s Mira quien baila All Stars rounded out the top 10, according to Nielsen. 

Streaming video service Amazon dominated the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards Sunday night on the strength of its comedy series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Amazon garnered three SAG Awards in the television category, the most of any cable, broadcast network or streaming service, according to the Screen Actors Guild. Streaming video service Netflix was the only other outlet to notch multiple wins with two.

Amazon was led by comedy series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which swept the comedy category with wins for best comedy ensemble; best female actor (Rachel Brosnahan) and best male actor (Tony Shalhoub).

For Brosnahan, it’s the third award she’s won in the past month for her performance as the lead character in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, following her Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards in the category.

NBC’s drama series This Is Us repeated as the SAG winner in the outstanding ensemble for a drama series category, while Sandra Oh took home the SAG Award for best female actor in a drama series, following her Critics Choice and Golden Globes wins in the same category for her performance in BBC America’s Killing Eve.

Streaming service Netflix dominated nominations for the 2019 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, announced Wednesday morning.

Netflix led all streaming services, cable and broadcast networks with 15 SAG Awards nominations, according to the organization. Amazon’s Prime Video and HBO followed close behind.

Among the shows with multiple SAG nominations were Netflix’s Ozark and The Kominsky Method, Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, NBC’s This Is Us, HBO’s Barry and Prime’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

The 25th annual SAG Awards will air live on TNT and TBS on Jan. 27.

HBO won the most Screen Actors Guild Awards during a ceremony that tipped its hat to the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements.

HBO won five SAG Awards, including two each for its limited series Big Little Lies and comedy series Veep, including best comedy ensemble.

NBC was the only other network or streaming service to win multiple awards – two for its series This Is Us, which won for outstanding ensemble for a drama series and outstanding performance by an actor in a drama series for Sterling K. Brown.

Brown, as well as Nicole Kidman and Alexander Skarsgard of Big Little Lies, all won recent Emmy, Golden Globe and now SAG Awards in their respective acting categories (see full list below).

Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale was shut out of the SAG Awards’ winners circle after winning both Emmy and Golden Globes Awards in the best drama category as well as the best actress in a drama series category for Elisabeth Moss.

The 24th Annual SAG Awards, which TBS and TNT aired live, was highlighted by its first ever female host, Kristen Bell (The Good Place), as well as an ensemble of female presenters, including actress Rita Moreno, who presented SAG’s Lifetime Achievement Award to Morgan Freeman.

HBO’s Big Little Lies remained hot on the TV awards front, sweeping the acting SAG Awards in the best television movie or limited series category.

Nicole Kidman won the SAG Award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a television movies or limited series, while Alexander Skarsgard took home the trophy in the outstanding performance by a male actor in a television movie or limited series.

Kidman adds a SAG Award to her Emmy and Golden Globe award wins for her portrayal of Celeste Wright in the HBO limited drama series. Skarsgard also completes the three-peat with Emmy, Globe and SAG wins for the role of Perry Wright in the HBO series.

Netflix and HBO dominated the 2018 Screen Actors Guild Awards television nominations announced Wednesday morning.

Netflix garnered 19 SAG Awards nominations, with HBO finishing second with 12. NBC finished a distant third with three nominations, according to SAG-AFTRA. 

Three shows tied for the most nominations with four each, including HBO’s limited series Big Little Lies, Netflix’s sci-fi series Stranger Things and female wrestling-themed comedy GLOW. 

Netflix’s Stranger Things will look to repeat in the best drama series category as it competes with sister Netflix series The Crown, HBO’s Game Of Thrones, Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale and NBC’s This is Us.

Netflix’s Orange Is The New Black will also look to defend last year’s win in the outstanding comedy series category against ABC’s Black-ish, HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, Netflix’s GLOW and HBO’s Veep.

The 24th annual SAG Awards will be presented live on TNT and TBS on Jan. 21.

Streaming service Netflix and HBO were the big TV network winners during the Screen Actors Guild Awards Sunday night.

Netflix won four awards including both the best drama series for Stranger Things and best comedy for Orange Is The New Black. HBO took home three SAG Awards statuettes, including a best actress in a comedy series award for Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ performance in Veep.

The SAG Awards were peppered with political statements from the winners. On winning the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor In A TV Movie/Limited Series, All The Way star Bryan Cranston – who plays President Lyndon B. Johnson in the HBO original film -- said if Johnson were alive he would wish current President Donald Trump well, but would warn him: “Just don’t piss in the soup that all of us gotta eat.”

Netflix swept the Screen Actor Awards in the major drama categories with wins for Stranger Things and The Crown.  

The streaming service's freshman fantasy drama series Stranger Things won for the Outstanding Performance by an Ensamble in a Drama Series. Another freshman series, The Crown, took home awards for Outstanding Perfrormance By A Male Actor In A Drama Series (John Lithgow) and Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Drama Series (Claire Foy).

Netflix's Orange Is The New Black also took home top honors in the Outstanding Performance by an Esemble In A Comedy Series.  

The 2016-17 TV and movie awards season has hit high gear with the presentation of Critics’ Choice Awards winners as well as nominations for Golden Globe Awards, NAACP Image Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards. While TV viewers and critics will undoubtedly cheer shows recognized by the major awards groups — and lament over their favorite shows that did not make the awards cut — The Wire saw three trends coming out of the awards blitz that could affect the television industry heading into the new year.

More love for diverse casting: A number of new scripted series with predominately multicultural casts won Critics’ Choice Awards in major categories or earned multiple Golden Globe, NAACP Image or SAG Award nominations. Established and more mainstream series like Empire and Black-ish continued to remain popular with awards judges, garnering numerous nominations. The most prominent and eye-opening nods, though, were for more niche shows like FX’s hip hop-flavored series Atlanta, as creator and star Donald Glover won a Critics’ Choice Award for best actor in a comedy series and Golden Globe nomination in the same category, and HBO’s comedy series Insecure, which nabbed eight NAACP Image Award nominations and a Golden Globe best comedy actress nod for Issa Rae, star of the freshman comedy series. Also, Golden Globe, SAG and NAACP award nominations for Thandie Newton’s performance as a newly sentient android in HBO’s Westworld, and multiple nods for FX limited series The People v. O.J. Simpson and actors including Courtney B. Vance and Sterling K. Brown (also nominated for an NAACP Image Award for NBC’s This Is Us) demonstrate that, when given a chance, actors of color can turn in award-defining performances.

Newbie series bring buzz: During every awards season there seems to be a new series that captures the zeitgeist of the viewer and the eye of judges. This season, several new shows have gained major award recognition. Half of the Critics’ Choice Awards winners in the major drama categories were from freshman series Westworld (HBO) and The Crown (Netflix). Four out of the five Golden Globes-nominated series in the drama category are from first-year shows (The Crown, Westworld, This Is Us and Netflix’s Stranger Things). Four of the five SAG Awards nominations for “outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series” were from new series, including two from binge-viewing favorite Stranger Things. With 400-plus scripted series for U.S. audiences to choose from, new shows are cutting through the clutter to build both audiences and critical acclaim.

Cable, streaming services dominate TV drama: Anyone who doubted whether the best and most critically acclaimed shows on television today are on cable networks and streaming services only has to look at recent award-winning and nominated shows in the major drama categories. Broadcast network shows were virtually shut out of Critics’ Choice Awards wins in all six drama categories and four of six comedy categories. On the nominations front, This Is Us is the lone broadcast entry in 15 Golden Globes drama category nominations and PBS’s recently ended Downton Abbey staved off a complete SAG Awards nominations sweep for cable and streaming services in major drama series categories. Shows from Netflix (The Crown, Stranger Things), HBO (Westworld, Game of Thrones), USA Network (Mr. Robot), AMC (Better Call Saul), FX (The Americans) and Starz (Outlander) have set the standard for quality among drama series that the broadcast networks will have to live up to if they are to be recognized during future awards seasons.

Reindeer Rundown: NORAD Set for Holiday

To ensure that cable operators and other media outlets can help prevent highflying grandmas from getting run over by flying reindeer and keep up with the lively and quick doings of the little man with the sack, NORAD, the joint U.S.-Canada aerospace warning and control operation, is inviting them to participate in this year’s Santa Claus tracking operation “in a variety of ways.”

NORAD, which annually charts Santa’s Christmas Eve/Christmas Day flights over North American airspace, is allowing media outlets to embed its “track Santa” logo, countdown clock and live tracking map on their websites.

Those outlets will also be authorized to tap into the Defense Video & Imagery Distribution System (DVIDS) system for live satellite interviews (6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 24) with senior NORAD command leaders (email requests to NORADTracksSanta@dvidshub.net). Various flight crews will escort the flight, per usual.

Starting at 2:01 a.m., the website will stream video of Santa preparing the flight and then from several locations en route. Those with OnStar can also press the button in their cars to locate Santa in his sleigh. No word on whether car-to-sleigh communications are mandated under the Department of Transportation’s new V2V “light duty” vehicles proposal issued last week, though Santa’s sleigh probably qualifies as heavy duty.

NORAD has tracked Santa since 1955. Before that, it was mostly word-of-mouth between siblings talking excitedly, snug in their beds, while they were supposed to be asleep.

Ball-Watcher Update: Times Square Hosts Set

Updating our item on the New Year’s Day festivities in Times Square, the talent, or at least most of it, has been named for the free, anchored, coverage of the ball drop that the Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment are making available to media outlets.

Singers Gavin DeGraw (“She Sets the City on Fire”) and Rachel Platten (“Fight Song” and “Stand By You”) will be co-headlining the live, commercial- free feeds and the webcast. Platten also gets the honors of carrying on the tradition of performing John Lennon’s “Imagine.”

Univision will provide “three star musical performances,” but they have yet to be named.

Returning as host of the Web coverage will be Spotify’s “global head of rock” Allison Hagendorf, joined by Jonathan Bennett (Mean Girls, Cake Wars).

Netflix took top honors at Saturday’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, which was also notable for its numerous diverse winners.

Netflix won three awards – two for its dramedy series Orange Is The New Black, which repeated as best Ensemble Comedy series as well as for series star Uzo Aduba, who took home the award for outstanding actress in a comedy series for the second year in a row.

House Of Cards’ Kevin Spacey was also a repeat winner, taking home the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series and beating out among other contenders Mad Men’s Jon Hamm in his last year of eligibility for the role of Don Draper in the AMC drama.

As the controversy over the lack of diverse nominations in major acting categories continues to engulf the Academy Awards, African Americans won a slew of SAG Outstanding Actor and Actress awards. Along with Aduba, Viola Davis was a repeat winner as Best Actress in a drama for her role in ABC’s How To Get Away From Murder, and Queen Latifah took home the SAG award for Outstanding actress in a television movie or miniseries for her role in HBO’s Bessie.

Idris Elba's role in BBC America’s Luther won him the top male actor honors in the television movie or miniseries category, while his starring role in Netflix’s Beast Of No Nation won him the SAG award for best male actor in a supporting role.

The Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations offered few surprises, with veteran cable shows Game Of Thrones, Mad Men, Homeland and Veep garnering multiple nominations, SAG announced Wednesday morning. (The 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards nominations are being announced Thursday morning, Dec. 10, starting at 5:15 a.nm PT.)

Mad Men drew nominations for best drama and best actor in a drama series for Jon Hamm in its last year of eligibility. Mad Men will battle last year’s winner Downton Abbey (PBS), Game of Thrones (HBO), Homeland (Showtime) and House Of Cards (Netflix) for best drama, while Hamm will be up against Peter Dinkladge (Game of Thrones), Kevin Spacey (House Of Cards), and newcomers Rami Malek (USA’s Mr. Robot) and Bob Odenkirk (AMC’s Better Call Saul).

Overall, Netflix had the most TV nominations, with eight, followed by HBO with six and Showtime with five, including a record 22d nomination for Edie Falco, who is up for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series as "Jackie Peyton" in Nurse Jackie's series’ seventh and final season.

Viola Davis (ABC’s How To Get Away With Murder) will look repeat as the winner in the Outstanding Actor In A Comedy Series category when she goes up against Claire Danes (Homeland) Julianna Margulies (CBS’ The Good Wife), Maggie Smith (Downton Abbey) and Robin Wright (House Of Cards).

William H. Macy and Uzo Adula will look to repeat in the best comedy actor categories. Macy, who plays Frank Gallagher in the Showtime comedy series Shameless, will go up against Ty Burrell (Modern Family) Louis C.K. (Louie), Jim Parsons (CBS’ The Big Bang Theory) and Jeffrey Tambor (Amazon's Transparent) for best male comedy performance.

Adula, who portrays Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren in Netflix’s Orange Is The New Black will contend with Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie), Ellie Kemper (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Julia Louis-Dryfus (Veep) and Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation) for the coveted best female comedy performance statuette.

Orange Is The New Black will also look to capture its second straight Award for best ensemble in a Comedy Series against The Big Bang Theory, Key & Peele, Modern Family, Transparent and Veep. Overall Netflix garnered  eight SAG Awards nominations to lead all television networks.

TBS and TNT will air live 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Jan. 30.

Netflix flexed its over-the-top muscles during the 21st annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony Sunday night, garnering three Actors – more than any cable or broadcast network.

 The OTT streaming service’s series Orange Is The New Black won two awards, including best ensemble in a comedy series, during the two-hour telecast airing on TBS and TNT. Orange beat out last year’s winner ABC’s Modern Family, as well as CBS’ The Big Bang Theory, Fox’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine and HBO’s Veep.

Orange star Uzo Aduba also won for best actress in a comedy series, topping fellow nominees Julie Bowen (Modern Family), Edie Falco (Showtime’s Nurse Jackie), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep) and Amy Poehler (NBC’s Park And Recreation)

William H. Macy took home top honors for best actor in a comedy series for his portrayal of Frank Gallagher in Showtime's Shameless. Macy topped last year’s winner Ty Burrell (Modern Family) as well as Louis C.K. (FX’s Louie), Jim Parsons (CBS’ The Big Bang Theory) and Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family).

Cable networks were shut out of wins in the major drama categories. Kevin Spacey (Netflix’s House of Cards) won for best actor in a comedy series, besting four actors from HBO series: Steve Buschemi (Boardwalk Empire) Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey (True Detective).

PBS’ Downton Abbey won best drama honors for the second time in three years, topping Boardwalk Empire (HBO), Game Of Thrones (HBO), Homeland (Showtime), and House Of Cards (Netflix).

HBO won two outstanding performance awards in the television movie or miniseries categories.

Mark Ruffalo earned best actor honors for his role as Ned Weeks in The Normal Heart, easing past fellow HBO nominee Richard Jenkins (Olive Kitteridge), Adrien Brody (History' s Houdini), Billy Bob Thornton (FX's Fargo), and Benedict Cumberbatch (PBS’ Sherlock: His Last Vow).

Frances McDormand was the recipient on the best actress statuette for her lead role in Olive Kitteridge. Her victory came against fellow cable nominees Julia Roberts (The Normal Heart), Ellen Burstyn (Lifetime's Flowers in the Attic), Cicely Tyson (Lifetime’s The Trip to Bountiful,) and Maggie Gyllenhaal (Sundance TV's The Honorable Woman.)

Before the show came on air, SAG honored HBO with the stunt ensemble award for the cast of Game of Thrones. Counting the tally for the fantasy skein, the premium network knotted Netflix with three SAG awards this go-round.

Netflix continues its winning ways during the Screen Actors Guild Awards, as House Of Cards star Kevin Spacey won for best actor in a drama series.

Spacey, who plays politician Francis Underwood in the series, beat out four actors from HBO series, including Steve Buschemi (Boardwalk Empire) Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), Woody Harrelson (True Detective) and Matthew McConaughey (True Detective).

Netflix's Orange Is The New Black won two awards in the comedy category earlier this evening.

PBS' Downton Abbey wins best drama ensamble cast, besting cable entries Game Of Thornes and Boardwalk Empire (HBO), Homeland (Showtime), and House of Cards (Neflix). It was the second win for the series in the last three years. AMC's Breaking Bad won last year's best drama award.

The 21st Annual SAG Awards started off with a vote for the OTT set as Uzo Aduba won the award for outstanding female  performance in a comedy series, before the Netflix original won for ensemble in the genre. 

Aduba took home the Actor for her performance as Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren in Netflix's 'Orange is the New Black.'

Aduba topped Jule Bowen from ABC's 'Modern Family,'  Edie Falco for Showtime's 'Nurse Jackie,' Amy Poehler for NBC's 'Parks and Recreation' and last year's winner, Julia Louis-Dreyfus for her turn as Vice President Selina Meyer in HBO's 'Veep.'

"Orange is the New Black' dethroned last year's winner 'Modern Family,' Fox's 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine,' HBO's 'Veep' and the most-watched comedy on TV, 'The Big Bang Theory.'

On the male side of the ledger,  William H. Macy was honored for outstanding performance by a male in a comedy series for his depraved patriarch, Frank Gallagher in Showtime's 'Shameless.'  The other nominees were: Louis C.K. for FX's 'Louie,' Ty Burrell and Eric Stonestreet  for 'Modern Family,'  and Jim Parsons for CBS's 'The Big Bang Theory.'  Burrell won the Actor in 2014 for his portrayal of Phil Dunphy.

While TV actors, shows and networks will be counting their awards Sunday night (Jan. 25), the pre-production folks mounting the 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards have been counting up how many items, resources and people it takes to get to the live simulcast of the show on TNT and TBS.

The SAG Awards, presented by SAG-AFTRA, will air live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Jan. 25, at 8 p.m. (ET). A primetime encore presentation will follow immediately on TNT. The show will also be live-streamed on the TNT and TBS websites, and via the Watch TNT and Watch TBS apps for iOS and Android.
