Robin Williams will be profiled when the next episode of Superstar airs on ABC Oct. 20. ABC News defines the series as a look at “the mavericks who shaped American culture.” Williams follows Richard Pryor, Whitney Houston, Kobe Bryant and John Ritter in the series. 

“The new episode recounts his life through Williams’ own voice, describing ‘the spark of madness’ which defined his life,” according to ABC News. “From his early days in the San Francisco Bay Area comedy scene to his meteoric rise on Mork & Mindy, the one-hour special explores the experiences that made Williams into a one-of-a-kind talent and reveals what gave voice to the characters in his mind.”

The special features interviews with Margaret Cho, Howie Mandel, Lewis Black, Jimmie Walker, Paula Poundstone and other comedians. 

It also explores his personal struggles, including substance abuse and depression, and his battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Williams died by suicide in 2014. 

Episodes are on Hulu the day after they premiere.

Entertainment legend Barbara Streisand will get her own SiriusXM Satellite Radio channel this Friday, appropriately named The Barbra Streisand Channel, which will exclusively feature the works of the Grammy, Oscar, Emmy and Tony award-winning artist.

The limited-run channel will launch on Sept. 12 at 5:00 pm ET and will run through Friday, Oct. 10, via satellite on Sirius channel 69 and XM channel 73. The Barbra Streisand Channel will also be available online on channel 69 and through the SiriusXM Internet Radio App.

Sirius XM is controlled by Liberty Media.

The channel will feature music spanning Streisand's legendary career, from her 1963 debut through her newest album, Partners, scheduled to be released on Sept. 16. The channel will be fully dedicated to Barbra Streisand's extensive body of work and will include selections from her live and studio recordings. The channel will also include Streisand's personal song selections from her catalog, spanning 50 years.

The Barbra Streisand Channel will also feature an exclusive "Town Hall" special with the entertainer. Streisand will sit down for a Q&A session with a select group of listeners in the SiriusXM studios in New York. Moderated by her longtime colleague, music industry executive Jay Landers, "SiriusXM's Town Hall with Barbra Streisand" will air on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 12:00 pm ET on The Barbra Streisand Channel.

Bravo Media will commemorate the life of late comedian Robin Williams with a special broadcast of his appearance on Inside the Actors’ Studio hosted by James Lipton, on Thursday, Aug. 21 at 8 p.m.

“There are so many reasons to grieve the loss of Robin Williams,” Lipton said in a statement. “One of the saddest is that he takes with him the multitude of characters he created – fifty two of them in a three minute span in the film ‘Aladdin.’ If it is true that an actor’s talent lays in the role choices he or she makes, Robin’s talent was unmatchable. But we already knew that, didn’t we?”

Williams was found dead at his home on Aug. 11.  He was 63 years old.

Disney Channel will pay tribute to the late actor Robin Williams with weekend airings of the 1992 animated movie Aladdin, the network said.

The movie, in which Williams voiced the character Genie, will air on Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior several times during the weekend, said network officials. Williams died Monday in his North California home at age 63.

Actor/comedian Robin Williams died Monday at his home in California from a possible suicide, according to local law enforcement officials.

Williams, an academy award winning actor for his role in the 1990’s Goodwill Hunting, was pronounced dead at his home this afternoon from what coroner investigators suspect to be a “suicide due to asphyxia,” according to CNN.com.

Williams battled substance abuse issues for much of his adult life. Williams most recently made a trip to a rehab center this summer, according to CNN. Williams' media representative told CNN that the comedian had been battling "severe depression."

Along with a storied movie career that includes such hits as Mrs. Doubtfire, Moscow On The Hudson, Good Morning Vietnam, and Dead Poets Society, Williams hosted several HBO stand-up comedic specials over the years. He also co-hosted several HBO Comic Relief charity specials with Billy Crystal and Whoopi Goldberg during the 1980s and 1990s, as well as a 2006 Comic Relief fundraiser for those affected by Hurricane Katrina.

HBO said in a statement: "Robin Williams graced HBO for so many years with his uncommon gifts.  He never failed to elevate his art and did so with a full, generous and loving heart.  Always humble and gracious, Robin was a prince and holds a special place in all our hearts."

President Barack Obama released a statement saying that Williams "ended up touching every element of the human spirit. He made us laugh, he made us cry. He gave his immeasurable talent freely and generously to those who needed it most -- from our troops stationed abroad to the marginalized on our own streets."

“I am deeply saddened to hear of Robin Williams’ death,” said SAG-AFTRA President Ken Howard. “He was a performer of limitless versatility, equally adept at comedy and drama, whether scripted or improv. With his incomparable manic style, he could appeal to adult sensibilities in a stand-up comedy routine or elicit giggles from children as the voice of Genie in Aladdin. Outside of his career, he used his considerable talents to raise money for charity. He was not only a talented man, but a true humanitarian. It’s such a tremendous loss.”
