TV One has renewed its comedy docu-series Rickey Smiley for Real for a third season, the network said Tuesday.

The series, which ends its second season tonight, will return for a new season focused on the life of the actor/comic/radio personality and his family, according to network officials.

"The consistent growth of Rickey Smiley for Real demonstrates the strong connection our viewers have with Rickey's lovable family and laughable team," said D'Angela Proctor, Head of Original Programming and Production for TV One in a statement. "Over two seasons, new and devoted fans have watched as the cast takes great strides in their personal lives and we look forward to watching as the cast exhibits their commitment to the community as well."

TV One has renewed its reality series Rickey Smiley For Real, the network announced Monday.

The one-hour series, which follows the life of syndicated radio personality and stand-up comedian Rickey Smiley, will return to TV One May 10, said network officials. Season one of Rickey Smiley For Real was the second most watched series in its time slot among adult black viewers 25-54, said network officials.

Rickey Smiley For Real is produced by Bobbcat Films with Smiley and Roger Bobb as executive producers, and Angi Bones as co-executive producer.
