Syfy's Face Off, a special effects make-up competition series, will return for its eighth season Jan. 13 at 9 p.m., the channel announced today.

As Syfy's most watched unscripted series, the new season brings a fresh twist to the original format. Throughout the season, former champions, Rayce Bird, Anthony Kosar and Laura Tyler, will choose teams of five new artists to coach in Return of the Champions.

Produced by Mission Control Media with Dwight D. Smith, Michael Agbabian and Derek Atherton work as executive producers on the series.

Season seven will finish on Oct. 28 at 9 p.m., where the final challenge will be to create a pair of knights, one to represent life and one death.

Actress McKenzie Westmore hosts, with industry professionals including, Ve Neill, Glenn Hetrick, Neville Page and Michael Westmore.
