Three cable-based awards shows drew huge audiences on social media last week, according to Nielsen.

BET’s annual BET Awards live telecast airing last night was the most popular entertainment-based show on social media during the week of June 18-24, generating 2.1 million combined Facebook and Twitter interactions, according to Nielsen’s weekly social media report.

MTV’s June 18 MTV Movies & TV Awards garnered 1.9 million social media interactions, while Disney Channel’s June 23 telecast of the 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards finished third with 816,000 interactions, according to the network.

MSNBC’s June 19 episode of The Rachel Maddow Show and USA Network’s June 18 Monday Night Raw episode rounded out the top five list, according to Nielsen.

Fox and Telemundo’s coverage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament scored the top five most social live sports telecasts for the week, led by the June 21 Argentina-Croatia telecast which drew 607,000 combined Facebook and Twitter interactions, according to Nielsen.

Radio Disney will look to turn up the volume on its upcoming Radio Disney Music Awards event by hosting a series of music concerts leading up to Disney Channel’s April 26 RDMA telecast.

On The Road to the RDMAs kicks off in New York at the YouTube Space with a concert featuring recording artists Becky G and Jacquie Lee, and hosted by Radio Disney's Alli Simpson and Ernie D. Other concert stops include Macon, Ga., Houston, YouTube Space Los Angeles, Orlando, Fla., and Anaheim, Calif, said company officials. The tour, which Disney officials hope to drive voting and excitement about the RDMAs, will culminate with a free RDMA Pre-Show Festival that will take place in Los Angeles in the hours leading up to the April 25 RMDA Awards show, said Disney officials.

Disney Channel will air a 90-minute television special originating from the event on April 26, said network officials.

Ariana Grande, One Direction,Taylor Swift and Fifth Harmony are among the music artists nominated for the 2015 Radio Disney Music Awards, Disney executives said.

Grande as well as Taylor were nominated in the Best Female Artist category, while British boy band One Direction and girl group Fifth Harmony drew nods for Best Music Group, according to Disney. Winners will be announced at the 2015 Radio Disney Music Awards on April 25,  with a 90-minute television special originating from the event to be presented April 26 on Disney Channel. 

Fans can vote for the winners on Disney's Radio Disney Music Awards site, as well as through the Radio Disney app and via Radio Disney's Facebook and Twitter social media sites.

Disney Channel’s Radio Disney Music Awards telecast struck a chord with viewers, drawing 3.2 million viewers, the network announced Tuesday.

The event, which Disney Channel aired for the first time, was the most watched primetime telecast in April across several major kids-targeted demographics – kids 2-11, Kids 6-11, Kids 6-14 Tweens 9-14 and Teens 12-17, said network officials.
