Cable and telecom research firm MoffettNathanson has hired former investment banker and Wall Street tech analyst Adam Holt to head up its software & services vertical.

A veteran Wall Street analyst, Holt spent the past three years as an investment banker at Qatalyst Partners, where he led its Software Investment Banking practice. Prior to Qatalyst, Holt served as the global head of software research at Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan. He was voted the No. 1 software analyst in America by Institutional Investor Magazine and/or Greenwich Associates for six consecutive years.  He has a total of 17 years of experience as a software analyst.

Holt is expected to initiate coverage within the next few months, MoffettNathanson said in a statement.
