New CNN chairman Chris Licht continued his shake-up of the news network by announcing a new morning show.

Don Lemon will be moving from primetime to anchor the show, along with Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins.

The new morning program will have a new name, format and set, CNN said.

“There is no stronger combination of talent than Don, Poppy and Kaitlan to deliver on our promise of a game-changing morning news program,” Licht said. “They are each uniquely intelligent, reliable and compelling; together they have a rare and palpable chemistry. Combined with CNN’s resources and global newsgathering capabilities, we will offer a smart, bold and refreshing way to start the day.”

Moving Lemon from his hour-long primetime slot also continues a trend of eliminating commentary that was critical of Donald Trump, making the network more centrist or conservative.

“The last eight years have been an incredible ride. I’ve had the opportunity to work with one of the best show teams in the business, but it’s time to shake things up. I am so appreciative of the Don Lemon Tonight team, my wonderful, loyal viewers and everyone who has believed in me,” Lemon said. “I was honestly floored when Chris Licht asked me to do this and I’m honored by his belief in me. It’s going to be a thrill to take on this challenge with Poppy and Kaitlan. I’ll get to work with two of my dearest friends. Set your alarms folks, because we’re going to have a lot of fun.”

Harlow is currently an anchor of CNN Newsroom from 9-11 a.m. ET and host of the CNN podcast Boss Files. She joined the network in 2008.

Collins joined CNN in 2017 and became the network’s youngest-ever chief White House correspondent at age 29. She will serve as co-anchor and chief correspondent for the show.

John Berman and Brianna Keilar will continue to anchor New Day, CNN’s current morning show, until the new program premieres. Both will assume new roles at the network later this year, CNN said. ■

CNN Plus continues to flesh out its original programming slate ahead of its launch this coming spring. 

The latest addition is Boss Files, an adaptation of  Poppy Harlow's popular eponymously titled podcast, which has in the past featured the CNN anchor interviewing powerful capitalists including Warren Buffett, Bill Gates,Mark Zuckerberg and other well-knowns. 

CNN Plus has committed to eight episodes. Harlow, who stepped down from her weekday anchoring duties on the flagship CNN linear channel last summer to pursue a master's degree, will apparently find ways to fit the interview show into her studies. 

Earlier this week, CNN Plus announced three other new shows:

> 5 Things, CNN’s most successful newsletter and podcast, will expand to a daily morning show on CNN Plus. Each morning, CNN anchor Kate Bolduan will count down the five stories deemed most relevant by the cable news giant.

> The Big Picture will offer subscribers an in-depth look at the most important and interesting story of the day. Hosted by CNN senior national correspondent Sara Sidner, the program will zoom out and focus on the broader scope of today’s top news story and "how various pieces of the puzzle connect." This weekday live show will feature deep-dive conversations and reporting from CNN’s reporters, correspondents, anchors and expert guests around a single topic. 

> Go There, currently exclusive to CNN Digital platforms, will move over to the news streaming service. The series feature various CNN personalities introducing viewers to far flung regions of the globe.

CNN, which President Donald Trump has accused of being a fake news outlet and part of a conspiracy to de-legitimize his election, has named former Trump campaign adviser Stephen Moore as a senior economic analyst and contributor.

Moore has been a Fox News commentator sice leaving the campaign, where he was a senior economic adviser. He is also an economist at the conservative Heritage Foundation and a contributor to the Wall Street Journal.

Additionally, CNN has shuffled its morning news lineup.

John Berman and Poppy Harlow will co-anchor CNN Newsroom at 9 a.m. They replace Carol Costello, who moved to HLN.

Berman had been co-anchoring Early Start (4-6 a.m.), where Dave Briggs, the former Fox & Friends co-anchor who was recently on NBC Sports Network, will replace him in February. Christine Romans remains co-anchor of Early Start.

Kate Bolduan will be solo anchor of At This Hour at 11 a.m.
