TBS scored big ratings numbers for last night’s Chicago Cubs-Washington Nationals National League Division Series deciding game.

The Game 5 telecast -- which saw the Cubs defeat the Nationals 9-8 to move on to the NL Championship Series -- averaged 7 million viewers, according to the network. Overall, TBS' NLDS coverage -- which also includes the three-game Arizona Dimondbacks-Los Angeles Dodgers series -- averaged 3.7 million viewers, up 29% over the network’s 2016 League Division Series coverage.

TBS’ 2017 NLDS coverage also garnered 28% growth in the adult 18-49 demo and increases of 27% in adults 25-54 and 12% in Men 18-34, said the network.

Further, live streaming coverage of the 2017 MLB Postseason across Turner’s TV Everywhere platforms averaged 6.2 million minutes of consumption through the NLDS, up 102% compared to last year, according to TBS. 

The network will telecast the Cubs-Los Angeles Dodgers NL Championship Series beginning Oct. 14.

TBS continues to ride the New York Mets and Chicago Cubs into the Major League Baseball post-season ratings record book.

The network’s Oct. 19 coverage of Mets-Cubs NLCS Game 3 averaged 9.2 million viewers, a record for a TBS NLCS game, according to Nielsen Fast Nationals.

The telecast was up 92% over the network’s Game 3 coverage of the 2013 St. Louis-Los Angeles Dodgers NLCS series and 53% up over TBS’ Kansas City-Baltimore Orioles 2014 ALCS series coverage, according to the network.

TBS will air Game 4 of the Mets-Cubs series tonight. The Mets, who are up 3 games to none over Chicago, could eliminate the Cubs with a win.

TBS Saturday night kicked off its coverage of the New York Mets- Chicago Cubs National League Championship Series is record fashion.

Game one of the series, which the Mets won 4 to 2, drew 7.9 million viewers, the network’s most viewed NLCS Game 1 ever, according to Nielsen. The telecast is up 46% in total viewers over the network’s 2013 St. Louis Cardinals-Los Angeles Dodgers Game 1 NLCS telecast, and up 34% over last year’s ALCS Game 1 telecast between Kansas City and Baltimore, according to Nielsen.

Overall, the MLB Postseason on TBS is averaging 5.9 million total viewers through 11 telecasts, up 41% over last year to rank as the network’s most-viewed postseason coverage to date, said the network.  

TBS’ coverage of last night’s New York Mets-Los Angeles Dodgers decisive Game 5 National League Division Series games drew 7.4 million viewers, the network’s second most viewed NLDS game.

The game, in which the Mets defeated the Dodgers to advance to the next round against the Chicago Cubs, was up 21% over the comparable NLDS Game 5 telecast in 2013, said network officials.

Overall the 2015 NLDS of TBS – which also featured the Chicago Cubs-St. Louis Cardinals series – averaged 5.4 million viewers, a TBS record for a NLDS series. The network’s coverage was up 52% in total viewers over last year’s ALDS coverage and 50% over the network’s 2013 NLDS coverage.

TBS is also averaging 5.7 million viewers through 10 telecasts, up 47% over last year and tied with 2007 as the network’s most-viewed post season coverage to date, according to network officials.

TBS wil begin its exclusive coverage of the Cubs-Mets National League Championship Series this weekend with Games 1 and 2 from New York airing on Saturday and Sunday night respectively.

The series will shift to Chicago for Game 3 (Oct. 20),Game 4 (Oct. 21) and, if necessary, Game 5 (Oct. 22.)

MLBN's exclusive telecast of the tight contest on Oct. 4 generated a 1.7 coverage rating and 1.8 million viewers, according to Nielsen data. Those deliveries topped the network's previous highs for Game 2 of the 2012 American League Division Series between the Detroit Tigers and the Oakland A's by 31% and 38%, respectively.

Saturday night's telecast peasked  with 2.2 million in the 12:45 a.m. (Oct. 5) quarter hour.

Baseball's in-house service will televise Game 3 of the other NLDS battle between the Washington Nationals and San Francisco Giants from AT&T Park at 3 p.m. (ET) on Monday, Oct. 6. Matt Vasgersian, John Smoltz and Sam Ryan will be on  the call.

TBS’s American League Division Series opening doubleheader averaged more than 4 million viewers on Thursday.

The network averaged 4.1 million watchers on Oct. 2 with its presentation of Baltimore’s bashing of Detroit and Kansas City’s latest extra inning triumph, this time over the Los Angeles Angels, according to Nielsen fast nationals data. That was up 32% from the 3.1 for the comparable day of the 2013 MLB postseason, when the National League Division Series twinbill of Pittsburgh-St. Louis and LA Dodgers-Atlanta averaged 3.1 million watchers in the same windows.

The junior circuit doubleheader, which squared off against CBS/NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football mismatch between Green Bay and Minnesota and ESPN’s college football doubleheader that included No. 2 Oregon losing to Arizona in the late-starting nightcap, delivered a 2.6 U.S. rating, up 30% from a 2.0 mark in 2013.

The ALDS coverage gave TBS night in cable, based on metered market ratings, and drove it to a 25% jump among persons 18 to 49 and 16% with guys of that age.

Game 1 between the Orioles and Tigers averaged a 2.5 rating, up 47% from a 1.7 for Cards-Pirates and 4 million total viewers, up 54% from 2.6 million last year. The telecast peaked with a 3.3 rating and 5.4 million total viewers in the 8:15 p.m. quarter hour (ET).

Locally, the telecast posted a 17.3 HH rating in the Baltimore DMA and a 16.0 in Detroit.

The starter of the other ALDS, in which the Royals prevailed 3-2 over the Angels in the 11th, averaged 4.2 million total viewers, up 20%  from the 3.5 million viewers for the network’s Dodgers-Braves telecast last year. Thursday’s nightcap scored a 17% gain to a 2.7 rating from a 2.3%

 The telecast earned a 30.8 in Kansas City – the highest rating for an MLB game in the market on record  (dating back to 1998) – and an 8.5 HH rating in L.A.
