The Television Critics Association moved Tuesday to rescind its Career Achievement Award given to comedian Bill Cosby  as the entertainer is sentenced to three to 10 years on a sexual assault conviction.

The TCA said the organization voted “overwhelmingly” to repeal the award given to Cosby in 2002 for his achievements in television. The move comes as a judge on Tuesday sentenced The Cosby Show star to three to 10 years in state prison for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand.

The move marks the first time the TCA has ever rescinded an award. "Since the inaugural TCA Award for Lifetime Achievement was presented to Grant Tinker in 1985, this is the first time there has been a groundswell to vacate an honor,” said TCA President and The Hollywood Reporter Television Critic Daniel Fienberg in a statement. “It was essential that the entire membership have the opportunity to vote and the results were decisive."

The National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) will honor late ESPN sports personality Stuart Scott with its 2015 Mickey Leland Humanitarian Achievement Award, the network said Monday.

Scott, who passed away in January after a long bout with cancer, will receive the award posthumously during NAMIC’s May 7 breakfast at the INTX show, said the diversity organization.

The Mickey Leland Humanitarian Achievement Award, created in 1992 in memory of the late Congressman from Texas, is NAMIC’s highest honor and recognizes individuals and companies representing the media, entertainment and communications industry for their philanthropic achievements and commitment to advancing the concerns of people of color.

Last month Scott received a posthumous award from the T Howard Foundation during the diversity organization's fundraising dinner.

"NAMIC is honored to pay tribute to Stuart Scott, one of our industry’s great leaders that fostered humanism and diversity in sportscasting and in his courageous fight against cancer,” said Eglon E. Simons, president and CEO of NAMIC in a statement.

Added ESPN president and co-chairman, Disney Media Networks John Skipper: “We appreciate NAMIC recognizing our wonderful friend and colleague in such a meaningful way.  Stuart Scott’s inspirational spirit is a major part of his legacy and this honor helps capture his remarkable impact.”
