If undefeated welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather is truly retiring, he’s leaving the boxing game on a high note after dominating Andre Berto in a unanimous decision win Saturday night.  

Mayweather used his superior boxing skills to easily defeat the former welterweight champion during the Showtime-distributed pay-per-view boxing card and to extend his record to 49-0, matching heavyweight fighter Rocky Marciano's undefeated streak. After the fight Mayweather – who is the most successful PPV draw ever - said that his career is over and he will look to spend time with his family. Some industry observers believe however, that Mayweather will return to the ring for another big payday in the near future.

The fight also ended Showtime’s six fight PPV agreement with Mayweather. It was unclear at press time how many PPV buys the fight generated, but it’s expected to fall well short of the record 4.4 million buys generated by this past May’s Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight.

The fight was streamed online – a first for a major boxing match – by CBS and Showtime. Specific buy numbers for the online offering was not available at press time.
