Live with Kelly and Ryan will say goodbye to Ryan Seacrest on Friday, April 14, Kelly Ripa and Seacrest confirmed on ABC’s Countdown to Oscars 95: The Red Carpet Live Sunday night. Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos, who has guest-hosted the show many times, will become the official co-host on Monday, April 17, and the show will be renamed Live with Kelly and Mark.

Seacrest announced in February that he would be leaving the show after six years of coast-to-coast commutes while he did Live, his daily nationally syndicated morning drive-time radio show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest, and hosted ABC’s American Idol in primetime. He’ll continue to do those other jobs as well as host Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest and occasionally guest-host Live.

Seacrest joined Live in 2017, after the show spent a year looking for a new co-host after the departure of Michael Strahan in 2016. Strahan replaced the show’s founding host, Regis Philbin, in 2012 and left in 2016 to permanently join ABC’s Good Morning America. 

Live with Kelly and Ryan on Monday aired its “Live After Oscar” show, which has become an annual tradition for the syndicated talker. 

Live with Kelly and Ryan is daytime’s top-rated talk show, averaging a 1.6 live plus same-day national household rating, according to Nielsen, in the week ended Sunday, February 26. ▪️

Ryan Seacrest will be leaving syndication powerhouse Live with Kelly and Ryan this spring after six seasons and will be replaced by Kelly Ripa’s husband, actor Mark Consuelos.

The upcoming changes were announced on Live Thursday morning.

Seacrest plans to return to the West Coast. He will continue to host American Idol and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. He said will also be an occasional guest host on Live.

“Working alongside Kelly over the past six years has been a dream job and one of the highlights of my career,“ Seacrest said. “She has been an amazing partner, friend, and confidant, and although we will always be a part of each other’s lives, I will miss our mornings together,” Seacrest said. “I also want to thank [executive producer] Michael Gelman and the entire staff and crew — we’ve made memories to last a lifetime, met some of the most incredible people and had the warmest welcome into the homes of so many viewers across America. It’s been a memorable ride and now I’m excited to pass the baton to Kelly’s ‘real’ husband, Mark.” 

The show will be rebranded as Live with Kelly and Mark.

“I’m so grateful to have spent the last six years beside my dear friend of too many decades to count and will miss starting my days with Ryan,” said Ripa. “Ryan’s energy, passion and love for entertainment is one-of-a-kind.” 

Seacrest was initially signed to co-host Live for three years, following in Regis Philbin’s footsteps, and ended up staying for six.

“Goodbyes are never easy, but we look forward to welcoming Ryan back regularly with open arms. As a fan-favorite guest host for years, Mark is no stranger to the Live family. Having him join the show is so special for us and we’re sure that viewers will feel the same,” said Michael Gelman, executive producer of Live with Kelly and Ryan.

So far this season, Live has been the top rated talk show among households, total viewers and women 25-54.  ■

Oxygen has teamed with celebrities Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos as well as BuzzFeed News for several new original shows, the network said Wednesday.

The true crime-oriented, female-targeted network has greenlit Exhumed, from Ripa and Consuelos’ Milojo Productions, examines a gripping murder case in which unearthing a victim’s body is the vehicle in solving the twisted crime, according to the network. Also on the slate is The Jane Doe Murders, a special in which renowned crime scene investigator Yolanda McClary examines an active case from Polk County, Oregon.

BuzzFeed News along with Pulse Films will executive produce The Case Died With Her, a special which will follow legal commentator and former prosecutor Loni Coombs as she dives into the case of Emilie Morris, a woman in her 30's who suffered an untimely death just after bringing charges against Jim Wilder for sexually inappropriate behavior when she was a minor.

Oxygen also announced the renewal of Injustice with Nancy Grace for a second season.

Logo has greenlit a ninth season of its reality series RuPaul’s Drag Race, the network said Tuesday (July 19).

In addition, the network has also greenlit a new docuseries, Fire Island, produced by the husband/wife team of Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa.

RuPaul’s Drag Race, starring actor/producer RuPaul, is coming off a successful eighth season in which the series generated year-to-year ratings growth. The series also earned two 2016 Emmy nominations, including an Outstanding reality host nomination for RuPaul.

The network will also launch a new docuseries, Fire Island, which follows a group of young, New York City professionals who leave behind the stress of their big city lives and escape to the sun-soaked oasis of Fire Island, according to network officials.

“‘Fire Island’ is an exciting new addition to Logo’s slate and perfectly complements the stories our audience craves,” said Pamela Post, senior vice president of original programing for Logo. “We’re thrilled to give it a home alongside yet another incredible season of intense competition on RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

After announcing a new half-hour series to debut on Logo TV at MTV's upfront presentation this April, producers Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are gearing up to launch Secret Guide to Fabulous (originally called The Secret Guide to Fabulous Living). 

The series, which is produced for Logo TV by Ripa and Consuelos's Milojo Productions, is scheduled to debut on Wednesday, September 3 at 11 p.m. ET/PT with back-to-back episodes.  

The show will consist of a panel of four hosts offering viewers practical advice on a variety of topics. Insanity workout founder Shaun T will provide fitness expertise, Parsons School of Design fashion professor Rob Younkers will offer fashion tips, YouTube personality Theodore Leaf will discuss entertainment and Rachel Ray correspondent John Gidding will bring his design knowledge to the show. 

"We're so excited about our new show, and have brought together some of the top stylists, designers, entertaining and fitness experts to show us all how to live a fabulous life," said Ripa and Consuelos in a release.
