Allen Media Group has inked author and Tv journalist Marc Lamont Hill to appear on its theGrio news/entertainment media platform.

The veteran journalist, who has appeared on such networks as CNN, BET and Fox News, will host a daily, one-hour television show for theGrio and a weekly podcast for theGrio Black Podcast Network.

Hill also appeared on the Black News Channel, the assets of which Allen Media Group acquired last month.

“Marc Lamont Hill is exceptionally smart and talented, which makes him a great addition to our platforms,” Allen Media Group Founder/Chairman/CEO Byron Allen said in a statement. “TheGrio is one-hundred percent Black-owned, which gives us a unique perspective.”

VH1 Taps Lamont Hill For Late Night Talk Show

VH1 next month will launch a new talk show starring BET news personality Marc Lamont Hill.

The weekly series, VH1 Live, will debut July 17 and will feature the CNN commentator and BET News host discussing the hottest entertainment news and gossip, according to network officials.

VH1 Live will be produced by Embassy Row, with Nina Diaz, Trevor Rose, Jen McGovern and Tolani Holmes serving as executive producers.

With the mid-term elections fast approaching, BET has launched a weekly web news series that focuses on the issues facing African-American millennials, said network officials.

The series, What’s At Stake, debuts today (Oct. 23) on BET.com, as well as the network’s video on demand service and its app BET Now, and will delve into topics that affect the network’s young viewers directly, said network officials.

Hosted by BET News correspondent Marc Lamont Hill, the multiplatform series will gain additional exposure on BET’s 106 & Park where each week Hill will discuss the show’s top stories. Today’s episode will discuss the financial aid issue, according to BET.
