The last season debut of HBO’s Emmy award-winning series Veep headlines a busy week of show premieres.

The sixth and final season of the multi-Emmy winning series Veep, which stars Julia Louise Dreyfus as politician Selina Meyer, debuts March 31 with seven episodes, according to HBO.

New series premiering this week include Fx’s vampire-themed mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows (March 27) and Prime Video’s Hanna (March 29).

History has renewed its sci-fi-themed series Project Blue Book for a second season, the network announced during its Television Critics Association winter press tour presentation.

Project Blue Book, based true, top-secret investigations into Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) conducted by the United States Air Force in the 1950s and 1960s and stars Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones) and Michael Malarkey (The Vampire Diaries), is averaging 3.4 million viewers in Live+3 delivery, according to network officials.

“We are believers in Project Blue Book and so is our audience who has sparked a conversation about the hundreds of unsolved cases and our nation’s military response to UFOs that have remained relatively secret until now,” said Eli Lehrer, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming for History in a statement. “We’ve touched on a very relevant topic and look forward to a second season.”

The network also set an March 25 premiere date for the sophomore campaign of its drama series Knightfall. Mark Hamill (Star Wars franchise) will join the cast of the show, which goes inside the medieval politics and warfare of the Knights Templar, the most powerful, wealthy and mysterious military order of the Middle Ages.

History Wednesday released a first look trailer for the second season of its drama series Knightfall, which will feature actor Mark Hamill.

Knightfall, which explores a dark time in history from the perspective of the Templar, casts Hamill in the role as Talus, a battle-hardened Knight Templar veteran of the Crusades. 

Talus survives captivity for 10 years in the Holy Land and is tasked with training the new initiates to the Order, according to History.

Knightfall is produced by A+E Studios in association with The Combine and Midnight Radio, with Aaron Helbing, Jeremy Renner, Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, Scott Rosenberg, Don Handfield, Richard Rayner, Cyrus Voris, Ethan Reiff, Rick Jacobson, Arturo Interian and Barry Jossen serving as executive producers, according to the network.

History's Knightfall is a sword-slinging adventure series that sprinkles historical figures, such as royals and a pope, in with a story line about the Templar knights’ search for the lost Holy Grail.

The chief hero, Landry (Tom Cullen), is a super serious and complicated monk who is an unstoppable force in battle.

The story starts with the knights losing their Holy Land stronghold of Acre in 1291 — and losing the cup that Jesus drank from at the Last Supper during the evacuation. Then it zooms ahead 15 years to Paris.

The action sequences (the swords are very sharp and there’s a fair amount of maiming) are excellent. There’s good scenery and golden-lit castles and chapels. The knights are honorable and deity-fearing, at least in the two episodes screened. The vibe is a little Game of Thrones, as it would, especially in the early scenes in Acre.

Cullen is a solid, deep-voiced lead. His Landry must overcome some rash tendencies if he is to lead his knights to that mislaid cup.
