HGTV and Discovery Plus will team to develop several new original series in 2021 featuring such celebrities as Kendra Wilkinson, Martha Stewart and Marsai Martin, the two companies announced Monday as part of Discovery Plus' virtual TCA Summer Press Tour session. 

Kendra on Top's Kendra Wilkinson will star in Kendra Sells Hollywood, in which Wilkinson -- now a real estate agent -- must prove that she has the hustle to make it in the intensely competitive Los Angeles real estate market, according to the network. The series debuts Nov. 17.

Other celebrities starring in new, real estate-themed series include black-ish star Marsai Martin, who will star in Remix My Space with Marsai Martin, a series that features extraordinary teens getting personalized bedroom makeovers; and Grammy-winning producer Lil Jon, who will star in Lil Jon Wants To Do What, which examines the performer's love of out-of-the-box home renos, said the network. 

“Just when fans think they’ve seen it all, we’re here to surprise them,” said Jane Latman, president, HGTV & streaming home content for Discovery in a statement. “We’ve always known that there are infinite ways to tell the story of home and in the next few months we will premiere more than a dozen new shows that push the boundaries of the home genre, while delivering on heart, humor and inspiration.”

Other HGTV shows set to debut on HGTV and Discovery Plus this fall include competition series Meet Your Makers Showdown starring This Is Us’s Chrissy Metz; Table Wars, hosted by Martha Stewart that reviews show-stopping, large-scale party environments created by the country’s best event designers; and Cheap Old Houses, featuring social media stars Ethan and Elizabeth Finkelstein that looks at the best bargains among low-priced, older houses across America.  

In other Discovery Plus TCA News, the streaming service will debut the second season of comedy series Well Done With Sebastian Maniscalco on Nov. 16.

Friday’s season five premiere of WE tv reality series Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars drew a series record 1.4 million viewers (Live +3 Nielsen ratings), the network said Wednesday.

The series, which looks to fix the troubled marriages and relationships of reality stars including Kendra Wilkinson & Hank Baskett (Kendra on Top, The Girls Next Door), Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino & Lauren Pesce (Jersey Shore, The Sorrentinos) and  Aubrey O’Day & Travis Garland (Making the Band, Celebrity Apprentice, All About Aubrey), also drew nearly 1 million adults 25-54 and nearly 800,000 women 25-54, according to the network.

The May 31 premiere of Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars, hosted by marriage counselors Jim and Elizabeth Carroll, also ranked as the top series on Friday night in 2015, according to SocialGuide.

“Our goal with Marriage Boot Camp was always to create a new franchise for WE tv, so it is so gratifying to see the premiere of our fifth season – and third focused on reality TV couples – welcomed by viewers with these record ratings and strong social buzz,” said Marc Juris, WE tv’s president.  “We are so excited about these characters and relationships, including our own Kendra, and can’t wait to share the rest of this explosive season with fans.”

Vivid Entertainment is looking to gain a linear lay of the land on The Continent next month.

The adult film company said it will launch VividTV Europe on Nov. 1, supplementing its traditional erotic fare with the highest-quality European content available.

News of the European service comes on the heels of last week’s announcement of a Vivid partnership with adult broadcaster Sex-Shop Television Inc. north of the border, where it will rebrand its Vanessa TV to VividTV Canada on Oct. 28.

Led by Tony Cochi, executive vice president worldwide distribution of VividTV, and Stephen Walter, senior vice president of business development for Canada and Europe, the new linear channel, will be available on Astra 1L 19.2° East as well as via fiber, and will complement Vivid’s extant European video on-demand distribution.  

Bill Asher, co-chairman of Vivid Entertainment, said distribution deals with several major European operators will be announced shortly.

VividTV launched its 24/7 linear channel in 2013 and the company said the network quickly became the top-performing adult service in over 70 million homes across North and South America.  Vivid extended its U.S. service to Europe in April of this year. 

“In order for any channel to truly be successful it must have a local flavor and appeal to the constituency of the territory,” Asher said. “VividTV Europe is designed specifically for the European market. The channel will deliver the most popular content in Europe, both through acquisitions as well as programming from Vivid Entertainment, owner of the largest single adult studio archive.”

The porn purveyor said European viewers will see exclusive, never-before-seen footage from the Vivid Celeb line, which includes sexually explicit videos starring Kim Kardashian, Tila Tequila, Pamela Anderson, Kendra Wilkinson, Montana Fishburne, among others, plus pop icon superhero parodies, award-winning series like Brand New Faces and 100% Real Swingers and genre features.

VividTV has partnered with Canadian adult broadcaster Sex-Shop Television Inc. to rebrand Sex-Shop’s Vannesa TV adult service as VividTV beginning Oct. 28, said network officials.

VividTV, which offers both an adult-themed linear channel and an on demand service in the U.S., will offer its programming – which features hard core movies and sex tape movies from Kim Kardashian, Kendra Wilkinson, Montana Fishburne and Tila Tequila -- on the Canadian service in both French and English. Overall the channel will offer more than 50% VividTV programing and the rest will come from Vanessa TV’s library of adult programming, said Vivid.

 Sex-Shop Television chief executive officer Anne-Marie Losique will head the channel.

“Vanessa TV is without a peer in Canada as a provider of fine adult programming.  We are delighted they are taking the lead in bringing VividTV audiences throughout the country,” said Bill Asher, co-chairman of Vivid Entertainment in a statement. “Because Anne-Marie knows the market so well, she’ll be able to package the best of Vanessa TV and VividTV.”
