Country star Keith Urban will be mega mentor on the current season of The Voice on NBC. He joins coaches Chance the Rapper, Dan + Shay, John Legend and Reba McEntire and starts April 8. Urban and the coaches mentor the artists who have made it through the Battle Rounds, as each team prepares for the Knockouts, which begin April 8.

“With his deep-seated passion for music, vast performing experience, versatility and musical virtuosity, Urban will provide invaluable advice to the artists alongside the coaches to bolster their unique strengths and elevate their performances,” said NBC. 

Urban has four Grammy Awards and 13 CMAs. He was a judge on American Idol for seasons 12, 13, 14 and 15. 

Previous mega mentors on the show include Reba McEntire, Ed Sheeran, Wynonna Judd and Snoop Dogg. 

The Voice is a presentation of MGM Television, Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon, and ITV Studios The Voice USA, Inc. The series was created by John de Mol, who is an executive producer along with Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson, Adam H. Sher, and Barry Poznick.

Keith Urban and Mickey Guyton host the 56th Academy of Country Music Awards. CBS airs the event, at the Grand Ole Opry House, Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Sunday, April 18. 

“Following Mickey’s groundbreaking and emotional performance featuring Keith Urban at last September’s ACM Awards, the producers knew that they would make a perfect hosting duo,” said ACM, Dick Clark Productions and CBS in a statement. “Since then, Mickey had a stratospheric rise and Keith has continued to top the charts. They will make a dynamic pairing that captures the warmth, humor and comfort that the fans are looking for, and join a legendary list of talented artists that have hosted the ACM Awards over the years.”

It is Urban’s second time hosting and Guyton’s first. Urban hosted in September. 

“I’m beyond thrilled to be co-hosting with my friend Mickey,” said Urban. “I love that finally everyone will get to see her infectious energy and uber creative spirit in full light.”

Dick Clark Productions produces the event. Guyton is the first Black woman to host the ACM Awards. 

“Last year I had the opportunity to perform at the Academy of Country Music Awards with someone I long admired, Keith Urban, and this year I am incredibly excited to share hosting duties with him,” said Guyton. “As I’ve said before ‘if you can see it, you can be it,’ and it’s such an honor to step onto the ACM stage as the first ever Black woman to host the show. Over the years, the Academy of Country Music has always been a home for me through opportunities both onstage and throughout their work on diversity and inclusion. This is a moment of great significance for me and I am so thrilled to share it with all the fans.”

Outdoor Channel will premiere a travel and outdoor adventure show this summer featuring award-winning country music artist Nick Hoffman called Nick’s Wild Ride.  The half-hour, 13-episode series will debut July 1 at 7:30 p.m.

Hoffman is a former member of Kenny Chesney’s band and currently is a member of the country music trio The Farm. He has also performed with music superstars Sara Evans, Keith Urban, Brooks & Dunn, John Mellencamp, Trace Adkins, Steve Miller, James Otto, and more.

Produced by Watermarc Productions and Ugly Duckling Entertainment, Nick's Wild Ride follows the Nowthen, Minn., native and Nashville transplant as he explores the music, food, culture, history and heartbeat of each stop he makes along his journey.

The first episode takes Hoffman to Louisiana, where he learns from locals how to make hot sauce. He then travels the Mississippi River and hits the swamps to hunt turkey and catch crawfish. In other episodes Hoffman hunts waterfowl in Nebraska, checks out the best microbreweries in Denver, travels to the Argentine Republic capital of Buenos Aires and hunts javelina in Mexico.

The series is part of Outdoor Channel’s Friday night “country” programming roster, which includes the return of new episodes of Craig Morgan All Access Outdoors, Nick’s Wild Ride, and a slate of classic and modern western cinema blockbusters.

CMT will air its fifth annual Artists of the Year awards, honoring Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Miranda Lambert and Keith Urbanon Dec. 2 at 8 p.m.

Live from Nashville, the 90-minute special will recognize the five artists through performances and more, as they are celebrated for their successes over the year.

Michael Dempsey is the executive producer for the show, and John Hamlin and Margaret Comeaux work as executive producers for CMT. 

Keith Urban is the only first-time honoree this year, and Jason Aldean has been awarded since the beginning in 2010.

With sold out concert tours and chart-topping album sales over the past 12 months, the artists are recognized for their wide impact in the music world.
