                                                                                                <dc:content><![CDATA[ <p><a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/whats-premiering-this-week-february-14-20">Kanye West docuseries <em>Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy</em></a> has premiered on Netflix. <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/will-smiths-big-fresh-prince-reboot-a-new-shonda-rhimes-series-a-steven-soderbergh-thriller-and-super-bowl-lvi-whats-upstream-for-feb-10-16">There are three episodes and they premiere weekly.</a> Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah are behind the project, which is filmed across two decades. </p><p>Netflix calls the series “an intimate and revealing portrait of Kanye West’s experience, showcasing both his formative days trying to break through and his life today as a global brand and artist.”</p><p>Covering 21 years of West’s life, <em>Jeen-Yuhs</em> shows him producing for Jay-Z, fighting for a record deal, winning 22 Grammys and emerging as a controversial figure in pop culture. </p><p>Simmons and Ozah, who are referred to as Coodie & Chike, have worked on West’s music videos in the past. They direct and produce<em> Jeen-Yuhs</em>. Jay-Z, Jamie Foxx, Common, Mos Def, Scarface and Beyonce are among the pop figures who offer their perspective. </p><p>The first episode, known as Act 1, is 89 minutes. Act 1 is called “Vision”, Act II is “Purpose” and Act III is “Awakening.”</p><p>Simmons has compared <em>Jeen-Yuhs </em>to 1994 basketball documentary <em>Hoop Dreams</em>. “I was like, man, what if I did a <em>Hoop Dreams</em> on Kanye?” he said. “I knew his style somewhat didn’t fit with the rappers back then.                                                                                                 <dc:content><![CDATA[ <p>MTV’s Aug. 30 <em>Video Music Awards</em> hit a sour note, according to most industry observers, posting a double-digit ratings decline from its 2014 version.</p><p>The show, once among cable’s biggest audience draws of the summer, averaged only 5 million viewers in its live run on MTV, down from the 8.2 million viewers the extravaganza generated last year.</p><p>That’s a major drop even in an environment where most cable shows and networks are losing audiences.</p><p>But the Miley Cyrus-hosted show struck a positive chord with the network’s target millennial audience on social media, where those viewers talk about the content they most want to see.</p><p>Performances, speeches and word wars by the likes of Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, The Weeknd and Justin Bieber – not to mention Kanye West’s 2020 presidential bid proclamation – helped drive a record 21.3 million tweets around the show, according to Nielsen’s Twitter TV ratings.</p><p>Clips from the <em>VMA</em>s drew more than 100 million loops on millennial-dominated online video-sharing service Vine and generated 64 million interactions on Instagram, where young people gravitate to discuss and view things that most interest them.</p><p>Unfortunately for MTV, the current content advertising distribution model – including accurate multiplatform audience measurements – have not caught up to the continued migration of viewers accessing and watching content on non-traditional platforms; otherwise, we might be viewing the performance of the Video Music Awards in a different light.</p><p>Some observers believe the MTV <em>VMA</em>s are no longer relevant given the show's declining ratings.                                                             <title><![CDATA[ NBA ASG in NYC ]]></title>
                                                                                                <dc:content><![CDATA[ <p>If you haven't noticed yet -- and that's fair -- given the locals' performance,  the NBA All-Star Weekend is setting up shop in the Big Apple.</p><p>From turnstiles at Grand Central sporting the event’s logo and pillars at the station wrapped in giant images of LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, to the upcoming league-inspired fitness events at 100 public schools (20 apiece in each of the five boroughs), plus skills and challenge competitions at the skylight at Moynihan Station (aka the giant post office building) and LIU Brooklyn Paramount Theater, commissioner Adam Silver and squad will do their best this week to take over the town.</p><p>While ESPN will air the celebrity game featuring ABC’s <em>Blackish</em> star Anthony Anderson (can't imagine <em>K'ville</em>'s Marlin Boulet has much hops) on Feb. 13 from Madison Square Gardnen, it’s largely TNT’s time on TV.</p><p>In addition to All-Star Saturday Night festivities (shooting stars, skills challenge, three-point shootout and dunk contest) from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, TNT will receive an assist from TBS’s simulcast of the game itself from the world’s most famous arena – Marv Albert will call his 20th, with a hand from Reggie Miller and Chris Webber (his first) -- on Sunday.</p><p>Last year, TNT tallied 7.5 million watchers on its own, so the Turner twosome could take a run at ESPN’s 8.8 million viewers for the 2015 Pro Bowl.</p><p>On Thursday and Friday, TNT’s acclaimed <em>Inside the NBA</em> show will originate from Hammerstein Ballroom, home of joint upfront presentations past from the two networks.                                 <p>If you haven't noticed yet -- and that's fair -- given the locals' performance,  the NBA All-Star Weekend is setting up shop in the Big Apple.</p><p>From turnstiles at Grand Central sporting the event’s logo and pillars at the station wrapped in giant images of LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, to the upcoming league-inspired fitness events at 100 public schools (20 apiece in each of the five boroughs), plus skills and challenge competitions at the skylight at Moynihan Station (aka the giant post office building) and LIU Brooklyn Paramount Theater, commissioner Adam Silver and squad will do their best this week to take over the town.</p><p>While ESPN will air the celebrity game featuring ABC’s <em>Blackish</em> star Anthony Anderson (can't imagine <em>K'ville</em>'s Marlin Boulet has much hops) on Feb. 13 from Madison Square Gardnen, it’s largely TNT’s time on TV.</p><p>In addition to All-Star Saturday Night festivities (shooting stars, skills challenge, three-point shootout and dunk contest) from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, TNT will receive an assist from TBS’s simulcast of the game itself from the world’s most famous arena – Marv Albert will call his 20th, with a hand from Reggie Miller and Chris Webber (his first) -- on Sunday.</p><p>Last year, TNT tallied 7.5 million watchers on its own, so the Turner twosome could take a run at ESPN’s 8.8 million viewers for the 2015 Pro Bowl.</p><p>On Thursday and Friday, TNT’s acclaimed <em>Inside the NBA</em> show will originate from Hammerstein Ballroom, home of joint upfront presentations past from the two networks.
