                                <p>HBO is teaming with producers Judd Apatow and Michael Bonfiglio to develop a two-part documentary on the life and career of comedy icon Mel Brooks.</p><p>The documentary will take an expansive yet intimate look at the more than 70-year career of Brooks, 98, HBO said. An EGOT — the winner of an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award — Brooks has created and produced such memorable screen works as the film and play <em>The Producers</em>; the films <em>Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Silent Movie, History of the World Part I </em>and<em> High Anxiety</em>; and the 1960s spy sendup TV series <em>Get Smart</em>. </p><p>Brooks is also the author of <em>The</em> <em>New York Times</em> bestseller <em>All About Me! My Remarkable Life in Show Business.</em></p><p>Last month, Brooks<a href="https://peabodyawards.com/stories/mel-brooks-and-quinta-brunson-honored-by-peabody/"> received the Peabody Awards&apos; Career Achievement Award</a> for his work and commitment to broadcasting and streaming media.</p><p>The Brooks documentary will be produced by HBO Documentary Films and Apatow Productions. It marks the reunion of Apatow, Bonfiglio and documentary editor Joe Beshenkovsky, who last worked together on <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/hbo-readies-documentary-on-comedian-george-carlin">HBO’s Emmy-winning documentary <em>George Carlin&apos;s American Dream</em></a><em>.</em></p><p>“I went into comedy because of my love for Mel Brooks,“ Apatow said of the documentary. “This project is the dream of a lifetime.”</p><p><br></p>

                                <p>Production has begun on season three of<em> </em><a href="https://www.pbs.org/video/season-2-preview-d8pnxr/"><em>Tell Me More</em>, an interview series hosted by Kelly Corrigan</a>, which runs on PBS stations and on the PBS Video app. Guests include playwright and actress Anna Deveare Smith, journalist Nicholas Kristof, <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/freaks-and-geeks-out-of-order-on-hulu-says-apatow">director Judd Apatow</a>, conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall and MSNBC anchor Richard Lui. </p><p>There will be 10 episodes. The season is scheduled to start in April 2022. </p><p>“It’s a total thrill to find and give a platform to world-positive work by people like Steve Kerr, Melinda French Gates, Dolores Huerta, <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/spike-lee-directs-david-byrne-in-american-utopia">David Byrne</a> and Judy Woodruff,” said Corrigan. “From the activists to the artists, the business leaders to the bright lights of media, <em>Tell Me More</em> is a place to go for hope and optimism, and inspiration to stay focused on what matters. And of course, partners like The Penner Family Foundation, The Gordon and Llura Gund Foundation and now The John Templeton Foundation make these conversations possible.”  </p><p>Deveare Smith’s credits include <em>Nurse Jackie</em> and <em>The West Wing</em>. Apatow’s include <em>The 40-Year-Old Virgin</em> and <em>The King of Staten Island. </em>Kristof was a long-time op-ed columnist for the <em>New York Times</em> who is running for governor of Oregon. </p><p><em>Tell Me More</em> is a production of WETA Washington DC, Second Peninsula and Corrigan Electric. Steve Goldbloom directs all 10 episodes. Executive producers are Corrigan, Goldbloom and Melissa Williams. </p>

                                <p><a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/freaks-and-geeks-to-stream-on-hulu"><em>Freaks and Geeks</em> arrived on Hulu Jan. 25</a>, but Judd Apatow, who was an executive producer on the short-lived show, told viewers not to watch just yet, as the episodes are out of order.</p><p>“Hey<a href="https://twitter.com/hulu"> @hulu</a>- the order of the episodes of Freaks and Geeks is wrong. It is correct on the wiki page. It’s really wrong so please fix it today or people will be truly confused. The production number order is not the intended air order. The DVD order is correct too. Thanks!” wrote <a href="https://twitter.com/JuddApatow">@juddapatow</a> on Twitter Jan. 25. </p><p>The comedy ran for one season on NBC, premiering in 1999. There are 18 episodes. Paul Feig created <em>Freaks and Geeks </em>and Linda Cardellini, James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jason Segel and Busy Philipps were in the cast. </p><p>“Nobody watch Freaks and Geeks on<a href="https://twitter.com/hulu"> @Hulu</a> yet,” continued Apatow on Twitter. “They put up the wrong cuts in the wrong order. The OTT service has greenlit two seasons of <em>Love,</em> with the first debuting in 2016 with 10 episodes and the second in 2017 with 12 episodes.</p><p>Apatow Productions and Legendary Television will produce half-hour comedy series, with Brent Forrester (<em>The Office</em>, <em>The Simpsons</em>) serving as executive producer.<br/></p><p>“Judd Apatow has a unique comedic voice that manages to be delightful, insightful, and shockingly frank -- often at the same time,” said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos in a statement. “Together with Paul and Lesley, he’s bringing a whole new level of agony and ecstasy to this modern day comedy of manners.”</p>
