                                <p>JetBlue customers will be able to watch original Peacock programming on flights starting Monday,</p><p>A deal between JetBlue and NBCU’s streaming service was <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/nbcus-peacock-takes-to-the-skies-in-deal-with-jetblue"><u>announced in December</u></a>.</p><p>As part of the arrangement, Rainn Wilson, the <em>Office </em>star and host of <em>Rainn Wilson’s Geography of Bliss</em>, filmed a video inviting travellers to sample <em>Geography of Bliss</em> and urging them to subscribe to Peacock when they land..  (The video notes that it was filmed in April, before the start of the SAG-AFTRA strike.) </p><p>More videos from Peacock talent are planned.</p><p>The companies have also launched a sweepstakes offering travel items, Peacock subscription, JetBlue flights  and other prizes via Fooji.</p><p>JetBlue passengers will be able to watch more than 100 Peacock titles in flight on the airline’s seatback touchscreens.                                 <p>NBCUniversal has made a deal to make <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/comcast-peacock">Peacock</a> the exclusive streaming partner of JetBlue Airlines.</p><p>Beginning in the spring, JetBlue passengers will be able to watch a selection of Peacock Originals for free on demand on the seatback screens on JetBlue planes.</p><p>Passengers will also be able to access the full Peacock offering via JetBlue’s free high-speed Fly-Fi on plane broadband service.</p><p>“As we were working to bring Peacock to viewers at 30,000 feet, JetBlue emerged as the perfect like-minded partner — a brand that puts its customers first, prides itself on innovation and believes that you can do it all and have some fun in the process,” Annie Luo, executive VP, global partnerships and strategic development for Peacock, said. “From a partnership perspective, we know the sky is literally the limit as our teams come together and bring our viewers new experiences from departure to arrival in ways that only our two brands can.”</p><p><a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/peacock-paid-users-have-doubled-in-2022-to-18-million-jeff-shell-says">Also:<strong> </strong>Peacock Paid Users Have Doubled in 2022 to 18 Million, Jeff Shell Says</a></p><p>Peacock is also being integrated into JetBlue’s loyalty program. Flyers will be able to earn Peacock subscriptions and Peacock subscribers will get upgraded status on JetBlue’s TrueBlue Mosaic program.</p><p>JetBlue currently provides free live TV via DirecTV in flight. That will continue, a JetBlue spokesperson said. Passengers now can stream shows, movies and music from Amazon. That will change after the Peacock deal kicks in, but passengers will be able to make retail transactions via Amazon.</p><p>“We’re excited to partner with Peacock, another fun, witty brand born in NYC to help raise the bar on what inflight entertainment can look like and bring in new ways of delighting our customers in the air and on the ground,” said Jayne O’Brien, head of marketing and loyalty, JetBlue. “JetBlue has a long history of providing industry leading inflight entertainment and connectivity, and our partnership with Peacock will seamlessly integrate into our TrueBlue program giving customers access to content throughout their travel journey and beyond.” ■</p>

                                <p>Amazon is the latest streaming service to fly the friendly skies.</p><p>Timed with the start of the holiday travel season, the retailing giant announced last week that its  Amazon Video service is now offered on more than 150 JetBlue aircraft equipped with free “Fly-Fi” connectivity.</p><p>Under the arrangement, Amazon Prime subscribers can log-in to access their video library, including Amazon originals such as <em>The Man in the High Castle,</em> while non-members can rent or purchase titles from the Amazon Video store.</p><p>As part of a multiyear deal, Amazon on JetBlue has been integrated into The Hub, the airline’s entertainment portal that customers access on their personal devices.</p><p>JetBlue said it plans to complete its installation of Fly-Fi, a service that uses Ka-band satellite technology, on its entire fleet in 2016. JetBlue currently has it installed on all its Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, and has begun installation on its fleet of Embraer 190s.</p><p>Access to Amazon Video complement’s JetBlue’s offer of 36 channels of live DirecTV service and 100-plus channels of SiriusXM Satellite Radio.</p><p>Amazon, which recently introduced an option that lets Prime subs download select titles from their streaming libraries for offline viewing, joins a growing mix of OTT services that provide access on planes.</p><p>Netflix, which has <a href="http://gizmodo.com/the-real-reason-netflix-wont-offer-offline-downloads-1729146143">shunned the video download distribution model</a>, offers its SVOD service <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/blog/netflix-streaming-takes-flight-394181" data-original-url="https://www.multichannel.com/blog/netflix-streaming-takes-flight-394181">on select Virgin America flights</a>. In the more traditional pay TV arena, Comcast and Epix are among those that let credentialed subscribers download movies and TV shows for offline viewing.</p>
