The Walt Disney Co. said Friday that it has named former J.P. Morgan media analyst Alexia Quadrani as senior VP of investor relations. She will report to Disney’s senior executive VP and chief financial officer Christine McCarthy.

Quadrani replaces Lowell Singer, who left Disney last year. As head of investor relations, Quadrani will serve as the company's chief liaison with Wall Street and a key adviser to its senior management. Her responsibilities will include expanding Disney’s relationships with both sell-side and buy-side investment analysts, industry analysts and investors globally, providing input on Disney’s financial reporting activities, managing stock share administration and leading ongoing engagement with the governance community and environmental, social and governance-focused investors. 

“Alexia is a highly-skilled financial professional whose expertise as an industry analyst and strong network of relationships across the investment community make her an excellent choice to lead our investor relations team,” McCarthy said in a press release. “I am confident that Alexia’s deep knowledge of the media sector, and Disney’s business in particular, make her especially well-suited to communicate our long-term strategy and financial performance to the investor community, and I am very excited to welcome her to my team.”

Quadrani was managing director and senior analyst, U.S. Media Equity Research at J.P. Morgan for the past 14 years. Her coverage included entertainment, advertising and video game stocks. She joined J.P. Morgan in 2008 through its merger with Bear Stearns, where she had served as senior managing director since 1997. She was an Institutional Investor-ranked analyst for over 20 years.

Comcast said Tuesday that Jason Armstrong has been promoted to deputy chief financial officer while also retaining his responsibilities as executive VP and treasurer. Armstrong will continue to report to company CFO Michael Cavanagh.

In a memo to employees Tuesday, Cavanagh said Armstrong will work with him and partner with the corporate finance and management teams at Comcast Cable, NBCUniversal and Sky to help drive strategy. Armstrong will continue to oversee Comcast’s corporate treasury functions and manage key initiatives and identify opportunities to collaborate across businesses. 

Armstrong has been with Comcast for nearly a decade, joining the company in 2014 as head of investor relations, after 14 years as a top equity analyst at Goldman Sachs covering the TMT space. He was named CFO of Sky in 2020, but returned to Comcast’s Philadelphia headquarters later that year as executive VP and treasurer, after his and his family’s full relocation to Sky’s U.K. offices was unexpectedly complicated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Viacom and CBS said Wednesday that they have named Anthony DiClemente executive vice president of investor relations of ViacomCBS, a role he will assume when the merger between the two media companies is completed, expected by the end of the year.

DiClemente is currently EVP of investor relations at CBS. In his new role he will report to Christina Spade, currently EVP and chief financial officer and CBS, who will become CFO of ViacomCBS after the merger.

Viacom and CBS agreed to combine in a deal that will value the company at about $30 billion earlier this month. After the deal is complete, Viacom CEO Bob Bakish will become CEO of the combined company, while CBS acting CEO Joseph Ianniello will become chairman and CEO of CBS.

As the EVP of Investor Relations, DiClemente will coordinate and oversee outreach strategies to the investment community. In addition, he will also be closely involved in refining the newly combined company’s corporate strategy and competitive positioning.

“I am thrilled that Anthony will step into this key leadership position at the newly unified company,” Spade said in a press release. “His deep knowledge of our business, his vast research experience, and the relationships he’s built with investors during his time as a Wall Street analyst covering the media industry will be invaluable to us and the future of our company.”

DiClemente joined CBS in June 2019 as EVP investor relations. Before joining CBS, he was senior managing director and fundamental research analyst at Evercore Group, where he worked since 2017. Prior to that, DiClemente led the equity research coverage of internet and media companies for Nomura Instinet, and before that, he worked for Barclays and Lehman Brothers for 13 years.
